MAybe, maybe not. On the other note, don't bother unless you are gaming on at least 4090.

GPU prices are very different from ~1 year ago, esp. the higher end cards. Cards were nowhere near MSRP (in some cases 100% more expensive) when the mining monsters vacuumed the market of gaming GPU's and the pandemic made it more "difficult and expensive" for the electronic giants to produce GPU's. We now know that it was mostly bullshit since Nvidia already had the parts they needed seeing as how they're now sitting on a huge stock of unsold 30x0 GPU's.

ps. I'm not sure why the 3050 is higher than MSRP. The 2060 is on average ~35% faster than the 3050 and can be found 2nd hand for ~$150-200.

What a difference 3D cache makes:

Apparently AMD is excluding the top tier 12- and 16-core 7000 CPU's from 3D cache. I guess that makes sense since they're not meant to be gaming CPU's but it's still a bit strange since they'll most likely lose out on plenty of sales of those top tier CPU's.

Is that true cause I wanted to buy 12 core one this holiday season, I got the money and wanted to retire my old dozer build.

AMD announced retail availability from February 28, 2023 for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D launches on April 6, 2023.

- The Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-core/16-thread processor is priced at USD $449
- The 12-core/24-thread Ryzen 9 7900X3D is priced at $599
- The flagship 16-core/32-thread Ryzen 9 7950X3D is priced at $699

The 7800X3D launches at a $50 higher price than the $399 price that the Ryzen 7 7700X launched at, before settling down at $349. The 7900X3D launches at $599, which again is a $50 premium over the launch price of the Ryzen 9 7900X—currently going for $475. The top-dog 7950X3D launches at the same $699 price that the 7950X launched at, which has its price slashed all the way down to $575.

So the CPU all Gamers were waiting for will be launched in April because that will make them grab the more expensive versions first. Gotta love marketing. Laughing

The 3D version of 7950X is seemingly slower by ~5% compared to the non-3D version in general computing while it's often ridiculously fast in many games. Hepp.

Just like 5800X vs. 5800X3D ?

Linux Benchmarks:

13900K consumes way too much power considering the performance difference. I simply wouldn't mind losing a few FPS and saving tons of power (and temps) instead of going 'all in regardless of power consumption etc.' Besides that Z690 platform is probably a dead end anyways.

7800X3D can be a huge hit if eveyrhing turns out as it stands.

Yeah, we could have 'Welcome to 2020s" banner on these products. So far I'm not jumping from my chair to buy anything AM5 related. There is absolutely no sense to pay almost 2000€ (!) for them.
