I bought bf2 for 50 dollars but what i mean by saying its to expensive is that months ago that game was free and they gave it some shiny new graphics and they want 25 for it? It should be free, i already bought HL2 why cant these people just give me some free mods?

I just opened up the GCFs for a look around, and it's still on the Unreal Engine...

RO its not a valve/steam game. It's distributed via steam. Counter strike, dod, etc were mods and then bought and sold as retail. This is what they do. They buy good mods to sell them with their 'Proffesional' brushing on top. Moreover, they give you patches/updates/maps/etc years after years for a game you bought for $25. Giving you other mods for free is a bit too much to ask...MMORPG companies get a monthly fee and you pay for expansions etc!
As far as HL2 go search yourself in moddb where you can find at least 1000 HL2 mods. Just a hint, search for insurgency and black mesa source, maybe the best HL2 mods yet to be released. Insurgency will OWN(watch the cqapital letters) RO imho. Not that RO is not very good. It is...

I've preordered this, and have been following the RO project for awhile now... So glad I didn't buy COD2.

Game looks nice and the price is excellent. Wish we could get some more online oriented games like this at that price.
However, I think the ultra-realism aspect of the game might be a turn off for me. Which would be a shame.
Still, any mod team who stick with it deserve some success and I'd rather by two mods I'll not play often than one comercial title like CoD2 which is crippled beyond belief.

The game release date has been announced, it is March 14.
I've managed to get in on the closed beta, and the game is just amazing. Its everything COD2 should have been. I've preordered it.
One of the coolest things about the game, is that the bullets, tracers and tank shells have physics attached to them. So they richochet around in interesting ways. its tough to describe the effect, but a long range tank battle with shells deflecting everywhere is a cool sight to behold.
Anyway, I would encourage anyone who is disappointed with COD2 to check it out.

They will be releasing a demo a little after the release also.

I want to know something about this game, when it will release on STEAM, does that mean the ones playing with the UT2004 will have to buy it too or you will be able to update it to be the same as the one on STEAM

I know that but those the STEAM version will work with a valid UT2004 key or its a complete new game that even the ones playing with the UT2004 right now will have to buy

they've just updated the official (closed) beta, so I imagine the scene release isn't working at the moment...

Completely new game.
Mod most likely won't be worked on anymore as they've all moved to retail...
UT2004 mod players and the new Steam release, will not be able to play together because everything is differentl. So you will need to buy it if you want the new one.
