That's why many people attach a powerbank, which can give a counterweight if you strap it to the back of your head.

And yes, sometimes the battery drains with the cable attached as well. I assume this depends on your PSU and MB on how much energy is delivered.

Exactly - and as you said, the counterweight on its own is worth it Smile

Had my first go with AirLink last night. I made a direct connection from my PC which has an AX card to the Quest 2 and it worked fine but i could not get Alyx to run in VR mode. When i went back later to retry about 5% of my desktop was missing at the bottom and it had become super choppy to the point where half the screen wasnt rendering most the time.

Most frustrating 90 minutes ive had with pc equipment this year.

Maybe try virtual desktop - but you need to buy the app first. It has been working flawlessly for me.

Edit: I've misread your post. I do have a Wifi 6 router connected via cable to PC. Did not try connecting directly to PC via wireless. Not sure if Virtual Desktop would be more responsive here (if working at all).

remains to be seen if this will be better than with a traditional router setup, but i don't really see the point otherwise?

And yes Virtual Desktop works great, easy to use.

Decent VR channel, i mostly follow him because he seems to get access to all new mods before they're out, looking forward to see the Resident Evil 7 VR mod.

Elden Ring in VR is also something i have to try out... one thing i don't like is that he usually never links to the mods or who's making it, doesn't even mention modder's name which is a bit disrespectful to the modder and audience too who has to google it and hope its the right mod they stumble upon if there are several in the works.

Just got the BOBOVR M2 Pro for my Quest 2. Really good, much better than the original strap (obviously), nice to have 3h extra battery time too.

Can recommend.

I bought the new adjustable headsstrap and the new eye colours that cancel the outside light out too, everything is more in focus because of the new parts in my opinion.

Not gonna even try to justify this amateur hour product. Hacky ways to play basic big games, UI is in the way, up in your face and buttons in the way with no simple and easy way to shove it back, up or down. Can't click on games even if it looks like everything is working. This is not a 400 Euro product

Edit: Finally got it working. No clue why steamvr suddenly decided to work, but now it works consistently.

There was a big step forward in recent days for Meta/Quest.

To support the VR evolution they have adjusted the price of the Quest 2 So it is now more expensive.

Slightly disappointed tbh. Some video's work and some don't on the grand interwebs so it can be a headache finding anything worthy of a fap.

Other critique is that anonymous players for windows doesn't seem to exist. Need to download to steam and what a fantastic thing that is! i mean, who will ever guess someone watching VR movies on steam (since steam broadcasts every fuckign thing you do) is actually watching regular video's and not porn? nobody that's who Laughing

Half life alyx is a weird one. Clicking to moving is terrible and if we're talking about VR immersion then that ain't it. Yet moving with controllers is kinda dizzying. Should have had one of those baby treadmills Laughing

Motion sickness is a personal thing, usually you either get accustomed to it and grow your "vr legs" or as they feel more like "vr skateboard" or you don't.
For me free movement was only an issue the first few times then I felt fine and used to it. For a friend he still gets dizzy no matter what. That's why all those movement options are available.

VR sickness is just something you have in the beginning.

I guess everyone remembers when 3D games came out (Doom, Wolfenstein), people also complained those games weren't really possible to play because they got terrinle motion sickness from it. You rarely see people complain about it these days, it's because almost everything is about moving in 3D and we have gotten used to it.

I personally always move with the sticks smoothly, it's the only way to play imo. Teleportation sucks..

UI for the Quest is absolutely amazing, i would rate it 8/10 at least, if you think it's bad then you should have used VR when the first Oculus came out, that was easily a 1/10 experience in comparison to how smooth it works with Quest.

Looking to buy one, but i have some questions.

I assume i can cast this to TV for when my wife is playing and vice-versa?
I won't be using it in the same room as PC, does it need to be connected to PC in order to work?
Needs special stuff to be able to download games, crackl games?
Do i need the elite strap? that shit is not very cheap?

1. no idea if you can cast from it, but to it, yes.
2. no. either stream via pc and network (way better graphics) or use Quest games.
3. yeah, some software. i don't use it, feels a bit risky to be honest, but maybe it isn't.
4. A new strap is probably good yes if you intend to use it for more than an hour at at time anyways. i have the BOBOVR M2 Pro, which was a great upgrade for comfort and extends the battery time.

Bought one, should be delivered next week.

Beatsaber might take most of my time on it, but I also want to try Alyx, does it work with Quest 2?

Also, please recommend some games/apps that shouldn't be missed.

Yes, Alyx does work very well.

Apart from Alyx, nothing comes close to it but:

Saints and sinners 1,2
Trover saves the universe ( I think this is comes close to alyx in quality, even though its a platformer)
Asgard Wrath (Should have been flat version as well, really long game)
Boneworks
Gorn
Robo Recall
Medal of honor
Face your fears
Walkabout minigolf
Vader Immortal
Porn movies
I Expect you to die
Battlezone
No Mans sky

Thats about it. Alyx is the best and the other ones are really really bad compared to alyx.
