Nope. That area has never been a problem for decent hardware. If a 4090/13000K still makes it dip from ~140 down to 90 frames in the tutorial level, then Rattay would continue to be a nightmare.
Same here on the 5800X3D, though I don’t care much. At least its playable, as opposed to my last CPU, the 3600XT.

Wait, you switched from a 3600XT to the 5800X3D? And it's a feasible change? Wow! I thought that I was safe with my 3800X for some time but if you can already feel the difference from one generation to another... But then again, you are also on a Radeon 6900XT right?

Do you experience noticeable performance issues with your 3600XT? If not, don't worry about it. It seems many people these days don't trust their own experience and go by what other claim combined with the addiction to the "newer, faster and more expensive is better" doctrine. I was once upon a time when I had more disposable cash but even then I never went for the most expensive flagship stuff, I researched the best price/performance hardware incl. overclock ability when it came to CPU, GPU and RAM (which could bump my performance to as close as possible to the next and more expensive higher end part).

AMD Radeon RX 7000 RDNA3 Arrives Early December
If it makes you feel better, this is a poor country and it's being listed at €3000-3300. And guess what they still sold those units and it's out of stock. Not that I would ever in a million years consider buying one.
Customs + sales tax + silly margins will do that.

Its mostly due to the cache helping in badly coded games making them cpu bound. KC:D, Elex2, FS2020 and games like Factorio in later stages profit from it a lot. I posted a few benchmarks in the CPU thread somewhere. Features like DLSS and FSR2 bring Games closer to being CPU bound too, so you’ll see a difference more often than not, depending of course on the games you play. Of course if you watch CPU reviews @4K you‘ll think there is no difference. Most ly because the selection of games is gpu bound @4K. This specific CPU is just great at some tasks. If you feel like you‘re not CPU bound, don’t upgrade. And ignore Frant here. This CPU is different. edit: Yes, I‘m also on a 6900XT.
Sorry of OT.
I gotta say, I‘m eager to see AMDs pricing on RDNA3 but I don’t expect wonders.

The whole thing with the pin burning/melting up is only with the separated adapter Nvidia gives or the manufacturers/whoever does, but...
....What about the connector that comes with these brand new PSUs, like Thermaltake?.. Do they have the same issue or...?

I wish they could challenge 4090 but as it stands they don't even dare to mention the whole card. This sucks because NVIDIA can troll us all day long with their pricing.

No need to challenge it iimmmoooo, too many GPUs that are too powerful for most games unless you're on 4K. And even then. The prices are crazy too, do we really need $2000 - $3000 cards from AMD as well?
I've had RTX cards for 4 years now and not once has raytracing been a huge selling point. I'll gladly get one of these for the right price, and if it's a decent enough upgrade to the 3080.
