Maybe. It's the same engine and asset re-use almost every single time. I've not seen a serious improvement worth re-looking at this franchise since the original modern warfare. I guarantee all the money going into this franchise, goes to marketing not development.
Remember when Valve, Epic, ID, Crytek, just about every player on the market would virtually build a new game engine from the ground up + a kick-ass game full of innovations on top.

Sounds like you're quite happy with those 70 Euro spent.
I'm surprised we don't see more FPS games given how ridiculously successful this game is.
Maybe gamers only buy 1-2 fps games a year and its COD.. ???
It's immensely expensive to make a campaign like this. Pretty much nobody else can afford to make one, thats why games copy certain COD elements, some may have the vibe and things like that, but an exact replica of COD would be too expensive for anyone else because you don't have the certainty of selling 30 million copies like COD does and make over 1 billion $ in a week.
The highly scripted campaign they make is very expensive and intensive to make, because you need to script and adjust every single second of a 6 hour campaign.
Also production is damn expensive. Even a few minutes clip can cost a fortune.
I have previous drivers and from yesterday, I get a crash every time a new lobby is found after previous match. If I go to main menu after a round and find a new game then I don't get any crashes.
Is there no console release for this? I am only interested in the SP and would play it on PS4, but apparently there is no release either? Is the PS4 version also online only?

Pffft I'm owning consoleros left and right even with their gay aim assist, that shit seems to aim for the chest, just focus on delivering headshots and be done with it. Plus their reaction times seem to be higher than average.
Alright, got mine from an old friend in France (we started playing BF1942 back in the days WITH headset and mic, which was THE new shit back then, gave us a MASSIVE advantage and was just funny beyond epic, German-English-French-Military Slang of some 22 year olds...I wish I had recorded some of those...man, hilarious. :°D)
10-15.000 hrs of BF and FPS on both sides, we're still friends, he's working in the french Gaming industry and gets a handful of codes for all sort of games. ('Happy Halloween Tigerrrr.' ) Merci J., so lets have a look for free...
Last COD was the cold war one, but just 200+ hrs of MP. The amount of camping is insane ofc, if you come from a main BF and ARMA-Squad background, but hey, it's COD right?!
But come on: the game quits and restarts, if you switch between MP, Campaign and Warzone (later on)? Never seen smth like that before...AAA game.
pad seems to be better at close range. Seeing that it has stronger aim bots than cheaters did in old CS 1.6 matches.
But the video above is not really out of the ordinary, he was aiming through a small door and two enemies just entered straight into his aim bot. It was an accident, not something to post and show how good you play with three hundred layers of assists doing the playing for you.
Also, when people say m/kb for fps and pad for 3rd person games or rpg's or whatever else, these assists are universally present in near every genre and game. Maybe not these specifically, but the fact that some people think 3rd person games are better on pad is because they don't realize that it's the assists doing the work, not them or the game being "better" somehow because its 3rd person
I will see how this will unfold and if the 25-30% discount is going to happen during Xmas (probably not, as the sales are stellar). I will just keep playing BF 2042. Season 3 should bring back classes, new reworked maps and hopefully a new map too
Last night I finally finished SP and it was a blast in general. Gameplay variations between the missions was probably the best since CoD 4. Some missions made me feel 18 again. AI was mediocre and sometimes even unfair thanks to Veteran mode (read: aimbot mode). I died in so many situations where enemy shot me out of nowhere right after the spawn. Gladly the saving system helped me many times otherwise I dont think I would be able to finish a single mission without dying at some point.
Acting, voice acting, atmosphere and badass setting was really really good. I wish we had more games like this but it's not gonna happen thanks to insanely expensive production. Huge shoutout to IW for not going #woke on any level.
Sadly the SP wasn't any longer than this because I would definitely like to spend a few extra evenings playing different missions.
I'm yet to test MP. More comments on that later on.

After the previous title “Call of Duty: Vanguard” reportedly had one of the worst launches for the franchise in years, Activision has turned things around with the highly lucrative debut of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”.
According to the publisher, this year’s entry in the long-running multiplayer military FPS series pulled in $800 million in launch sales in three days. That makes it the top opening weekend sales of any game in “Call of Duty” history and the highest-grossing entertainment opening of the year.

Having played a bit in MP, I gotta say, the 6v6 is much too arcade and hectic for me...I like 2 maps, rest is rubbish.
However, I have a lot of fun playing Ground War and Invasion, the large Santa Sena Border map would be epic with 128 players...and BF stuff. Imho it's better than anything I played in BF2042 so far. Rooms, Doors, actually a pretty realistic urban setting that feels like a 'city'.
Hourglass in comparison...well...
Not sure though why there are 20 bots per side...40 human players a team would be much better.
The gunplay, weapons and movement are great. Played a round of BF last night and it was...a little meh, I gotta admit. Never thought I'd say smth like this, but COD MW2 > BF 2042.
Campaign went from cringe to great to cringe to great to doublecringe at the end...not worth 70 bucks, if you wondered about that. Got mine for free anyway, but I'd say I would have paid 50 bucks for the MP...mainly because of the large modes.
Shame on you, DICE.
PS: The bugs are hilarious...after hitting Lvl55, you get no more after action reports, good luck finding which attachments you unlocked and such...can't play CO-OP, because it resets all your keybinds...impossible to play if you rebind 20+ keys like me. The Menu-UI is horrible. And some days the game runs smoothly, and some days it freezes and crashes every 20 mins.
