the anime glosses over a lot of the world and lore the game slowly and patiently introduces, so watching the anime first you might feel a bit overwhelmed with that or you might simply completely miss it.
also i felt giddy inside every time the anime showed something from the game whether it be weapons and cyberware or even music tracks.
the anime is good but playing the game first makes it better and i don't see it happening the other way around.
The anime is great, didn't play the game but i'm obviously very familiar with cyberpunk already, read most of the "bigger" books in the genre ages ago.
it's good that it's about "punks", so many so called cyberpunk games doesn't have that, they have some soldier or agent guy instead, which isn't cyberpunk at all, the setting maybe but not in style.
started again playing this for the 3rd time and still bugs, npcs dissapeared, some weird wall clippings etc but fuck it, i dont care anymore and will finish.
as for the game, the missions so far are very hand held , whole first act is like a tutorial

At which refresh rate? I've got the impression that, similar to Skyrim, the engine is wonky and only works OK in 60 Hz with both V-Sync and FPS cap on, thus I didn't have any issues of that kind.

finished and by the time end credits rolled i enjoyed it more than i thought i would.
around 50h, did all side quests, some gigs but they are ur usual open world busy work.
story was not long, what i didnt liked was the time between doing all side quests and the point of no return.
u basically start the game and do the main quests to get used to the game, this is act 1 and basically a long tutorial, title screen comes up. then u start act 2, do some 3-4 main missions then like point of no return lol. then its a big long time until u finish all them side quests first that basically are a big part of the game that even adds to the main story. the side quests that impact the ending should appear much sooner and have special markings.
still it was a nice surprise given all the backlash, even enjoyed keanu even the way he speaks at first became a memorable character, v too together with other ones from the game.
Why keep wasting money on hiring famous actors? I'd rather the budget went to making sure the expansion had more content and depth.
Don't think even 2 billions $$$ budget can do much here.
The main problem with the game is manly the overambition. Even greatest coders won't be able to make all this bugfree. Such big open world with many interactions is always a mess.
But at least more money could've been used for some top story and writing.
