So looking at the financials spreadsheet, it really is US$7,800 net profit. The GOG figures:
US$37.5 million in sales revenue
US$25.7 million in costs of goods sold (~68.5%)
US$11.8 million gross profit
US$12.4 million operational costs
-US$329,160 loss before tax
Looks like a US$337K tax offset is what scraped them over the line. The interesting thing is that US$10.5 million of the operational costs is listed as "selling costs". Seems like wages must comprise a decent chunk of that, although they also list a separate US$1.6 million in general/admin costs. Seems strangely high given how low Polish wages are by comparison to the West. It does list GOG as having US$31.3 million in assets, including US$16.2 million in cash and US$5.3 million in prepaid expenses (compared to CDPR having US$10.8 million in cash and US$144.3 million in >3 month bank deposits).

Not sure if this was mentioned but there is a rumor (from a polish game site which is rather credible) that the new "AAA title" is Baldur's Gate 3.

Yup, you are correct. But Beamdog doesn't have the resources, the manpower, the money or the talent to do something decent. So i wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro decided to go with a dev that can actually make a successful RPG.
But...that is a rumos, so it should be taken as such.

True dat, absolutely. However, the site (gry-online = gamepressure) does have good info when concerning polish devs.
And since this new title will not be a big-ass game like W3 or CP2077, but still of top quality, it would fit a title like Baldur's Gate. As long as it maintains view perspective and doesn't go FPP or TPP (highly doubtful).
Also, an easter egg in W3, has shown that CDPR liked Baldur's Gate (the "you have to gather the party..." line when going to get Ciri from the island). BG's polish translation/dubbing was one of the first professional ones in Kurwaland. The line from BG/W3 i mentioned is basically cult among older players here.

Baldur's Gate 1 was the first big translation project for then publisher-only and relatively young CD Projekt. Back then if a game was translated it was text only at best, but CD Projekt hired known voice actors and created an absolutely stunningly looking and well translated standard edition. Big box, map and all. It was their first big hit.
Would be interesting if they made Baldur's Gate 3. They definitely have the know-how.
Too bad the canonic ending for the Bhaalspawn is pretty meh.

After the disappointing welcoming of Fallout 76, Bethesda has decided to focus fully on multiplayer gaming, and thus decided to outsource the upcoming TESVI to CDPR.

A mobile witcher is not out of the question, they do have a separate mobile studio after all (Spokko).

When this happens I won't have time to post a thank you quote, as I'll be busy fapping til I die.

https://www.eurogamer.net/cd-projekt-red-announces-cyberpunk-2077-sequel-future-witcher-projects-outlined
Quote: | There is a full sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 on the way.
Today, developer CD Projekt Red lifted the lid on its upcoming projects, including one codenamed Orion.
This, the company has said, will be the "next Cyberpunk game" and it will take the "Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe."
There's no mention here of the company's long-in-the-works Cyberpunk multiplayer project, which it has been tinkering away on for years and previously described as a "triple-A" release. However, today's flurry of announcements included word CD Projekt was introducing multiplayer to "most of our new games to enrich the single-player experience". Perhaps this multiplayer project has morphed into the Cyberpunk sequel?
In addition to this news, the developer also laid out further plans for its next Witcher series. This will include a new trilogy of games that will begin with a project codenamed "Polaris", and will be released over a six-year period.
The company also has a project currently known as "Canis Majoris" (which will be developed by a third party studio) on the go. This will be a fully-fledged Witcher game, but one that is separate from the aforementioned trilogy of games.
Thirdly for the Witcher franchise, the studio revealed a project codenamed "Sirius" that is being helmed by Molasses Flood.
Sirius will include a multiplayer element on top of a single player experience that will include "a campaign with quests and a story".
As for the long-awaited current-gen console update for The Witcher 3, there's no new detail on when that will arrive - though it is currently still set for this year.
Lastly, a brand-new IP codenamed "Hadar" is also in the pipeline, but for now details on this are all under wraps. CD Projekt Red states this game is still in the "earliest stages of the creative process", and therefore development on it has not yet started. The company did share that it will be an "entirely distinct IP", that will be "created from scratch" within CD Projekt Red.
Cyberpunk 2077 has seen quite the renaissance of late, something that has been attributed to the well received Netflix anime Edgerunners.
This weekend, stats shared by Valve showed that Cyberpunk 2077 was the fourth most popular game on Steam Deck by total hours played, topped only by Stardew Valley, Elden Ring, and Vampire Survivors - in that order.
 |
Whatever, zero faith that they've learned anything from the CP 2077 bullshit. And sorry, I'm not buying the "wow the animu is so good that it saved the game" BS that has been floating around lately

Out of 4(+1) games they fucked 1, while working on fixing their shit.
Aren't you a bit TOO bitter?

So they worked on a single game, and couldn’t deliver anything good, now they are splitting their work force in three different project umbrellas, each doing multiple projects? Surely a success will come out of this.

You can polish a turd but it’s still a turd. Even if they fix all the bugs, the game itself is garbage, by design. Pretty, maybe, but garbage.

It's not what it was advertised and it has a non-washable 'beta', 'unpolished' layer on it.
And of course it's not garbage.

Aren't you a bit TOO bitter? | Imagine going from the masterpiece that is TW3 to the masterpiss that is CP2077 and then wondering why some people are bitter about the developers of both games.
Weird, huh?

first foray into an fps game. lololol dev is dead!!!!
it's ok to be skeptical. underneath all the bugs and the unfinished game, there is some good. if they don't cheap out on q and a studio and they actually get the reports needed to make it decent, then who cares?
also witcher 1 wasn't THAT good. 2 was better. 3 is best.
so cyberpunk 3 will be best. duuuh.
