That's not how the world 'works', that's how the world gets 'enslaved'.

By each and one of the sheeple thinking HE can't make a difference.

The 'I' alone CAN make a difference. History showed this so many, many times. Not (only) because of the untapped power of that 'I', but because we are all linked and can influence / inspire / give an example to those around us.

Try it. Slowly. Be patient and you will see it.

Yikes, inspiration speech. No thanks keep that to yourself. Knowing how the world works is key to realizing how powerless and fruitless your individual protests are. You're just self harming yourself really, that is if you really want to play the games.

We all are what we think we are: 'powerless' or 'powerful'.

And it's fine either way.

We're fine.

This is fine.

Still keeping up that inspirational thing. Been watching some videos? Youtubers like asmon etc are "powerful". They can make a difference if they aim for it like he did with WoW at some point, but people like us? no. I'm trying to make a point, how powerful am i in getting my point across? not very i'd say. Thinking you're powerful is fine to a point, but it's also important to recognize what you are in the eyes of others

Wow, chinese fortunecookies all around.

Not inspirational, but a reality check: in the eyes of others you are what you are showing them.

So... who are you? One that whines about Blizzard but still buys their shitty products - because 'everyone else does' and 'we're doomed anyway'!?

Or do you make a choice, take a stand and refuse to do so?

Or... you can go even further and work hard (like Ass-man-gold) to gain credibility, trust and popularity (aka 'power') and then make a BIG(ger) difference. No one stops you to do exactly what other 'utubers' / influencers / (true) journalists are doing.

We're all the sum of our choices and we don't have any right to complain about the lack of our 'power'. Unless you are born as prisoner in some third-world country...

Diablo Immortal players that purchased Eternal Orbs from third-party websites have had their in-game purchases revoked, leaving them with massive debts that many can't pay off.

One such player, a high-level Wizard named Shia, received a -2,491,025 Orb debt that would have cost over $35,000 to repay.

Anyone think this genre is kinda.. dead? The fact that all these games focus on loot, front and center, has made it so devs don't concentrate on actually making a good game and rather making a game that has some bullshit gameplay loop that people for some reason HAVE to play for a decade or it's a failed game.. or in this case buy shitty skins and microtransactions. You're playing a shitty slot machine rather than a competently made game. Get this random shitty token in *this* way to spend it over *here.* Once you have enough of *this* token go and gamble them *here*, or trade them *here*, or craft them *here.*

And the end result ends up being devs who care not about making interesting enemies and tactical gameplay.. why would you if the whole screen explodes in a second or two when you nuke everything?

Look at the first Diablo and tell me the newer games have a superior atmosphere... are they able to be played for a longer amount of time before you get bored? Sure but that doesn't make them better games. It's just gotten too meta-y and needs a complete reset.

Partially agree with you, I think there is so much untapped innovation across many gaming genre's. I don't get why they just stick to 20 year old formula's over and over.

POE:
- Casino simulator crafting
- Extreme grind
- Odd game balance where 85% of skills are so expensive and grindy to build around, no one plays them.
- Zero and i mean Zero quality of life.. no auto-pickup, no auto-Id all, if there is a way to force RSI induced clicking then that's what GGG will do.
- The only pro is that is a still a complex hardcore PC game at heart.

Diablo3+:
- My #1 problem is the mechanics are so casual and dumbed down its dis-interesting to me.
- Now owned and developed by Activision / big corps, expect heavy monetization bullshit.

Modern ARPG is very casino/gambling driven in mechanics, monsters are meaningless its just about hoovering potential drops as fast as possible. POE is almost a clicker / idle game in that respect once your mapping.

How about an ARPG where the monsters pose a decent threat, have unique attacks > i'd hate to say it but maybe take a soulslike approach?

MMO's:
I played lost ark out of boredom lately, its primarily an MMO first with an ARPG perspective. Why are all MMO's exactly the same?
- hard limit player power
- Cooking craft bullshit
- Mine copper, iron, steel etc gated by level.
- cut down trees pine, oak etc. gated by level
- hunt creatures gated by level.
- have shitty vista cutscenes gotta collect them all.
- force you to click on 1000000 NPC's, skip all dialog and go NPC A > NPC B as the entire gameplay loop.

^ Has no-one ever thought of just doing something slightly different from the other 1000 MMO's? or must every single MMO copy and paste the same formula forever?

The Answer: I'm sure many developers want to innovate and make something cool. Thats expensive, and why bother when doing the same over and over is a safe bet derp gamers buy up off hype anyway. This is reason indy games are the best games mechanically now. These studio's do take chances and make something they are interested in making. Just don't expect AAA quality from them.

Don't get me started on PoE lmao. What an absolute bloated garbage mess of a game. Every time i play it there's another shitty layer added onto the shit sandwich. Anything to keep people coming back to try the new league i guess

youre both right and wrong at the same time. many players dont play till endgame, or dont engage with it to that extent. some people just finish normal difficulty in diablo or move on. or play normal, nightmare, hit the wall at hell difficulty and then leave the game alone. and you can still play the game like that, and theres nothing wrong with it. play "single" (as possible in d4 as you can, obviously, because it has more shitty mmo crap), finish campaign, check other classes if you wanna or not, move on.

im huge diablo fan since 1st one, still my favourite in terms of atmosphere, same as you. d2 is more robust in every way, has more stuff to do when u finish the main game - some people just want that, its like with cod - some will gladly play only campaign, other buy it just for multi, i personally like both things, tho i dont need to spend my life on that multi = endgame in diablo games.

I have access to the beta, only played it for maybe an hour. It looks great, but can't really comment on the game play yet. I did wonder if I do not take advantage of it and play, will they take my access away? After all we are just glorified game testers.

The thing I disike about a lot of action RPG's is that it's to much end game focused. I don't iike endgame cause it's a grind. But your average aRGP sees the main story as a training mode. Now do that again at a slightly higher difficulty, repeat, and then endgame where the "real' game begins where you have to grind.

Will play diablo 4 though, i'll get my 40-50 hours out of it. It looks decent enough.

How are legendaries on beta? From latest videos they kinda look bland like D3
