I downloaded a 6GB release, which says it's HDR, but fuck me, if that is true HDR, than this show has the worst ever HDR usage. I'll try a different release. It looked so incredibly flat
The HBO app said 4k HDR..... on my Samsung Q90 it was extremely dark, boosting the brightness didn't make it much better. They did the same thing with the last few seasons of GoT the blacks were horrible......
you updated it? I know the q90/q95 got some brightness or contrast issues people have been talking about. Ill try on my updated q95
For last nights episode I played with the settings, this was far better than what I used during the first episode.

Noticed a change too. Downloaded the first episode and had green and purple colors, but more or less proper colors the second episode. Maybe the colors felt a bit flat, but ill have to check

Well yeah my tv doesn't have dolby. Yet for some reason the second episode from the same release group got different results. Should have been the same i'd think.
second ep really didnt add much , such boring plots sofar , these actors think they are the shit , but they are effin nothing, they have to earn that shit like the first cast but no scenes are there where they can prove anything sofar but they acting like they made it already , no humbleness....

Sometimes the DV releases have HDR fallback which makes it work and displays the HDR logo when triggered.
I’m glad they added a proper Game of Thrones style intro from the 2nd episode onwards, that was really cool and as awesome as the theme is, a new one would have been nice. The main title still shows ‘Game of Thrones’ on it and ‘House of the Dragon’ looks like more of a sub-title …
HotD feels like loosy based on the book and faithful adaption at the same time.
I guess that while more than 90% of the dialog and lots of stuffs are
show only (being fair the book the show based on told in more generally way instead of POV characters like in ASOIAF so they have to rewrite lots of stuffs) they did emphises things that were kinda neglected in GOT like the "propachis" and there is strong emphasis this time on cutting yourself on the throne and what is mean...
Cuz the the outcome of the story is basically completed hopefully the show can end in a better way GOT did.
