If Part 2 comes out within 3 years from now I don't think it's gonna be ps5 exclusive or they'd lose to many sales. Ps4 install base is too big and ps5 will take a long time to catch up.

maybe if we don't see part 2 until 2025 or something I could imagine it being ps5/xsex only.

Since the DLC is already PS5 only, I hardly doubt that part 2 will work on PS4.

Quote:
The new Yuffie content was intended to be included as part of the base game when it made the leap to PlayStation 5, but this wasn’t possible because of “the nature of the upgrade system”. As such, it had to be labelled as downloadable content. Still, Nomura insists this will be the only DLC for the game and they “do not have any plans for downloadable content at this time”. If they do ever decide to make DLC for Intergrade, it won’t be until they’ve completed the next game, so that doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be more content in the future.

Players who have purchased the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake will get a free new-gen upgrade but will have to purchase the Yuffie DLC episode separately for an unspecified cost.

Well, that's horseshit now ain't it? If it was supposed to be included and because of technical reasons they couldn't, why would they charge extra now? Laughing

Really surprised this doesn't come out on PC this year. Sony must have paid many monies again to have this be "PS-exclusive" for another year. Could have sworn they would release the PC version after one year, similar to other games.

Lighting looks way better on PS5 even without the JJ Abrams lens flare!
And then I find this which explains a lot.

Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase ran through the changes in the PS5 version.

It really does seem like Square Enix did more than just slap a coat of PlayStation 5 paint on the new version. According to Kitase, this was the first time for a Final Fantasy game to created a dedicated team of lighting pros, who moved lighting sources around in the game to light the scenes like on a Hollywood film.

Photo mode will be awesome. Cant wait to see what people come up with. Very Happy

Final Fantasy VII Remake EPISODE INTERmission

Amidst the confusion of Mako Reactor 5’s destruction, Wutai makes its move on the city of Midgar.

Yuffie and her partner Sonon, two elite ninja operatives for the Wutaian government, have been assigned a dangerous mission: to steal the Shinra Electric Power Company’s most powerful materia. Together with Avalanche HQ’s support, they cross behind enemy lines to reclaim their homeland’s former glory and exact revenge long in the making.

Unbeknownst to Yuffie, however, the wheel of fate is turning, and unforeseen consequences await.

Started this thanks to the PS Plus offering, never liked any FF game i tried (mainly some lightning games on Xbox 360 and XV), i like VII Remake, it looks good and runs very well. The combat is flashy and kinda fun, i say kinda since it's like the Yakuza series to me, i enjoy it but not quite my cup of tea but still fun enough to enjoy the rest of the game. I wish we could change Cloud hair.. or at least make him wear some hat/helmet ffs his hair looks ridiculous lol. Rest of the characters looks cool so far in my 5 hours playing, especially the grumpy Barret. I think what's missing for me about the combat both in this and XV is that there's no combo's, like basic combat is only press square, i mean if you gone with real-time combat at least make it more fun.. abilities are fun, but i would add heavy attack and a few combo to spice the combat up... maybe in part2/XVI.

Meanwhile we get the PSP game this year.
Albeit probably will be generic since it seems like a rushed remake.

They officially call it remaster, tho i saw some sites calling it remake.
From the trailer it looks less good then FF7R?
Anyway i will try it if it has something like 7R combat and not turn-based.

https://square-enix-games.com/en_GB/news/crisis-core-final-fantasy-vii-reunion

about the combat;

https://www.pcgamer.com/the-crisis-core-final-fantasy-7-remake-is-changing-the-battle-system-and-i-demand-to-see-the-manager/

I think the trailer made it look like 7R, no?

Watched the trailer again, can't figure how the combat works, you can move you character but i'm not sure it's like 7R, also there's numbers on the top left corner of the screen.. for what?
It does look less good then 7R i think.. probably in-between remake and remaster.

It does, but i have no clue what it supposed to be as i'm a newbie as for FF. I guess the original was turn-based plus from reading it has some luck factor, hmm wonder how will this translates to the remaster..

The combat seems to be pretty much the same as in the original Crisi Core for PSP. You can try it on PPSSPP with a backup.
