Bought all Yakuza games on summer sale. Only game i played in the sereis was yakuza 0.
Decided to play like a dragon first but unfortunately its dissapointing.
Combat is bland and boring and you cant easily run away from encounters anymore.
Story is kinda meh.

Story is good, but japanese games are slow burners 95% of the time. You'll have to stick it out to reach the good parts.

Yeah, Like a Dragon was the last one I played in my Yakuza run (did them in chronological order), and glad it came last. It has the best graphics and most side games and stuff to do, but it's extremely boring. Real shame, but turn based combat killed the series, as apparently they won't return to the old format.

I do recommend to go through all the other ones, even Yakuza 3

It's funny seeing Yakuza going from beat them up to turn based and gaining immense popularity in the process while FF XVI is not returning to turn based as they fear it'll sell bad.

Yeah, I usually like turn based too and even prefer it most of the time, but Yakuza is the big exception it seems. Never really got tired of it, throughout the 6 games.

I enjoy turn based only when they're not overly slow. Slow battle transitions, slow tallying of money, items and maybe score etc. Yakuza is fast as lightning so more of that in other games too please.
Ohh and i also dislike turn based that act like a puzzle in the way you have to fight bosses. Some are ok, but no all the time.

I'm currently playing Mortal Shell before I venture to Elden Ring. And also started Life is Strange 2, which I enjoy a lot for now. It isn't as good as the first one, but still, I love these games.

I finished Subnautica yesterday (second time). I finished Subnautica: Below Zero before that and felt I needed more thalassophobia ("Thalassophobia is an intense phobia or fear of large bodies of water."). Wink

Just finished installing Cyberdunk 1977.

I am currently rereplaying Satisfactory but with update 6 in the experimental build. Its satisfyingly pointless.

exit: @Frant, I wish I could forget about Subnautica and replay both games fresh. The first one is the better game but the second one is more refined in certain areas.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

So... Cyberfunk.. I'm a couple of hours into it.. and it's "okay+". The world (at least visually) is really cool and looks great. The game play isn't quite there although it's what you'd expect from a game like this. The game play is similar to GTA V's, just more RPG elements.

The driving physics/handling/model is atrocious and makes GTA V look like a driving semi-simulator. Laughing Good thing there's a fast travel system.

There are bugs (of course). Crowd walking into each other and getting stuck, some texture flickering, some random low res textures (ads in particular) etc.

On average the world is visually awesome and give me fairly good cyberpunk and some blade runner vibes (except for the day). I wish there was a way to disable that horrible "adaptive light adjustment" crap (or whatever it's called) when you walk between a shadowed area into a sunlit area. It's so jarring and makes the game look worse.

So far it's a 7.5/10 for me.

Oh, I forgot:
To get the best performance on my old 1060 6GB (60+ FPS) without setting everything to low/off I'm running 1280x720 and use LosslessScaling to upscale it to 1920x1080 and it looks surprisingly good, very close to native res. There are a few issues like wire fences not only being aliased but the upscaling algorithm creating noise in the wire fence. Since they're few and far between I can overlook that issue since the game looks a lot better than running at lower setting in native res. The upscaling is really sharp without creating more aliasing. As for lossless? Not sure about that but that doesn't matter, at least not on my TV.

Great. While LosslessScaling works for any game it only works if the game is set to windows or borderless windowed which affects the performance a little since the nv driver has to go through Win10's window manager instead of direct access when using fullscreen.

Just finished Bravely Default II and had a lot of fun with it. Even grinding wasn't a chore.

Right now playing:

The Hand of Merlin - a somewhat semi-procedurally generated turn based tactics. It's ok but once finished it doesn't really do anything new. Thankfully it's pretty fast to run through. There are unlock but when you get the gist of it, It's pretty easy to get to the last boss.

Cult of the Lamb - pretty fun little make your own dark cult with sweet animals and graphics while mixing Animal Crossing with Binding of Isaac.

Pocket League Story- I just love this simple time waster football manager.

Really enjoying this game. It has bits of Half-life, Stalker, FEAR and others.
Has two modes, single player campaign ( 4-5 hours ) and an open world mode which extends the lore of the game.
