I'd add INFRA, Obduction, QUBE 2 and the uber mind-fucking Antichamber, though I'm not sure they're what you're looking for. Still very competently made, especially INFRA which combines exploration with logical puzzles. Superliminal was a nice experience as well, albeit criminally short.

So played some demoes from next fest and while indie games have not enough traction on hump, some ultra short reviews of upcoming shit (or not).
The Last Oricru
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1663640/The_Last_Oricru/
Guys clearly are inspired by Piranha Bytes... but take PB and take all budget from them. Overall super junky, low budget, awful voice acting. There is some reactive choice and consequence but it gets lost in the feeling of it being undercook, raw even.
Midnight Fight Express Demo
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1390410/Midnight_Fight_Express/
Actually it was pretty fun beat'em up. Fun.
Tyrants Blessing
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1520760/Tyrants_Blessing/
Tactical turn based puzzle game. Great pixel art and solid mechanics. Pretty fun.
Terra Nil
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1593030/Terra_Nil/
Wasteland reclamation builder. Chill out game about recovering destroyed enviroment. Nice graphics, pretty decent and fun if you want something relaxing.
Vanaris Tactics
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1610350/Vanaris_Tactics__Prologue/
Pretty solid turn based tactics (i'm biased I love TBT). Nice graphics.
Darkverse: Rogue
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1605250/Darkverse_Rogue/
Boomer shooter rougelite with quake graphics. Solid but hard.
Selaco
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1592280/Selaco/
F.E.A.R. meets boomer shooter graphics. Hard as fuck. Meaty firefights. Probably recommend when it comes out in 1.0.
Spiritlink Tactics
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1596350/Spiritlink_Tactics/
TBT. Was ok.
Deadlink
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1676130/Deadlink/
Rougelite fps with some fun, dynamic combat. Was fun, dunno why the cunts took down the demo.
Subterrain: Mines of Titan
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1573100/Subterrain_Mines_of_Titan/
Turn based survival horror rpg. The premise is cool but the demo was too turn based. Every move is turned based and you have to take care of food, sleep and etc. So when I had to search half the base for one character that fuck off somewhere - the turned based aspect and lack of fluidity get tedious super fast. Otherwise it might be something to look forward.
[b]Back to the Dawn
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1735700/Back_to_the_Dawn/
Survival Prison Sim RPG. Disco Elysium mechanics meet cutesy graphics in brutal world of prison rape. Cool premise and something new from all the scifi, horror or fantasy tropes.
Power Chord
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1724390/Power_Chord/
Card battler with battle of the demonic bands theme, comics graphics. It's n'th card battler, the mechanics are solid but it's nothing new. I was expecting some cool music or different riffs playing while you use cards or something but no. Meh. Might be ok if you really, really love card battlers.
Bloodhound
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1926270/Bloodhound/
Arena fps. Shit.
Far Away From Home
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1874260/Far_Away_From_Home/
TBT RPG. Seems interesting. But the art style had no clear direction, a child of remote work without supervision. It's a garbled thing made of different artstyle and assets. Very off puting.
Anger Foot
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1978590/Anger_Foot/
Flashy, seems like high speed combat. Really - stupid AI, super simple but is kind of relaxing if you like something brain dead.
RIPOUT
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1558830/RIPOUT/
Body horror fps. Cool art concepts with body horror, it tingles somethings in me with it's back story. Slow paced combat, not really scary and it's 3DRealms backed so it will be in Development Hell forever.
Gastro Force
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1918270/Gastro_Force/
Blake Stone era fps. Cluncky, boring, meh.
Untamed Tactics
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1538900/Untamed_Tactics/
Another TBT RPG. Seems ok, nice graphics, some interesting mechanics. If you like TBT.
Goblin Stone
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1521970/Goblin_Stone/
Card battler tactics rpg with goblin breeding. This game is gorgeous. Definitly will look for the full release of this.
Farlanders
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1318740/Farlanders/
Mars terraforming city builder. Nice pixel art, simple but difficult gameplay. If you like city builders.
Zodiac Legion
https://store.steampowered.com/app/812910/Zodiac_Legion/
The demo, pre-alpha was shit. Awful optimization, borderline unplayable and unresponsive. Left a bad taste.
More to cum.

Bought TMNT and enjoyed it. Warezed Final Vendetta and thought it was pretty damn fun too. Nothing compares to good ole Streets of Rage 1 imo. 2 was amazing but nothing hits the same as the original for me.
Tried Cultic demo, and really enjoyed it. Punchy weapons and good atmosphere. Didnt really get Blood vibes though feels like its own thing.

Cheers for the summaries!
I've been binging the Total War games I've skipped thus far:
3K
Wonderful art style, especially the menus. However, the settlement UI is quite hard to figure out. The campagin map is also rather unclear (where the borders are, etc.) I've only played a bit, as the whole China setting (and the Chinese names in particluar) don't do it for me. Might go back to it sometime later, though.
Troy
Excellent new mechanics, very good and enjoyable battles, but it features the usual shitty AI agent-spam, which makes it highly annoying. Also, the map is too crowded/there are way too many factions/too much water to cross, it just gets totally chaotic. A fucking shame, though, as I like the new mechanics such as the 5 resource types, the much-improved dilpomacy, and the influence/favour of the gods.
Thrones of Britannia
Just started this, but I really like the setting and the art style. I've read that the campaign mechanics - some of which are fresh, which is great - turn into a fucking chore eventually.
-----
Also re-installed Rome II (great game, but quite dated in terms of gfx and mechanics -- and the naval battles are utter shite!) as well as Attila (got bored with the campaigns). Gonna try the Ancient Empires mod for Attila, though.

Guilty Gear Strive still amazes me that the story mode is just a 4 and half hour movie with no actual gameplay. I am surprised that they have not speed up the initial load times though as firing it up always takes a few minutes to get into the game with it connecting to all the different servers on start up.

But the campaign can be played with any of the 6(?) factions, which is a huge plus.

But all those campaigns are rather generic and copy pasted, while Chaos Rising has a well crafted campaign with unique missions and much better storytelling.

I'm more interested in campaign mode. Original DOW 2 was more generic/straightforward, while Chaos Rising had more engaging story with some twists.

Forgive Me Father
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1590910/Forgive_Me_Father/
I don't get the praise the game gets. It has one of the blandest level design that sucks the fun out of the game.

After Hardspace Shipbreaker, I gave Car Mechanic Sim 2021 a try, and I find it surprisingly fun and relaxing some might call it boring, and that wouldn't be wrong either
I wonder, are there recommended similar games? I'm not interested in any of those house/hotel renovation games, however. What's enticing to me about both Shipbreaker and Car Mechanic are the ships/machinery you take apart (and/or put back together), so the mechanical aspect.
There's a similar, dystopic one in which you repair futuristic mechs, but it's getting bad reviews... and Graveyard Sim, the one where you tear down boats, seems too limited as you don't actually remove the hull, just interior and rubbish.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
