This will net record breaking profits whether your the phone durr with no idea, the blizz/diablo fan "$20-$300 isn't that bad.." or the "whale"/problem gambler that can't help dump all their money in this thing. That means more micro-transactions and P2W incoming to every AAA title near you.
It really needs proper investigation and banning. These companies are offering gambling services for children and can pervasively market beyond the laws that govern the actual gambling industry.
The balls of making top end gear near the value of 40-100K is crazy! you can bet a lot of time and money went into researching monetisation to land on a figure like that. That points to a very large number of 30-40 year olds blowing numbers like that on previous games. Star Citizen probably the same, there's probably 100 thousand or so users with 20-40K piled into that garbage.
I dunno, the hatred i have towards this company ( and now also ALL its remaining employees who are full knowingly participating and making this gambling shit now) is growing on a weekly basis, and i can imagine other people in same age category who see what vileness they been up to, who start having kids wil tell their kids to steer clear of this turd companies games or straight up forbid them.

I know right, I decided to try Diablo Immortal...good lord. I finished the campaign, it was kinda meh but Diablo campaigns are never anything special. The shop and overall monetization though is disgusting. It deserves every bit of criticism and more it is getting.
i dont like the visuals at all, looks so plastiky and fake and very little environment interaction with the skills to breathe some life into the screen, and id hate it if this is the maximum u can zoom out
D2R exceeded my albeit low expectations. It also wasnt dev'd by Blizzard so it doesn't make me any more optimistic for D4. It sounds like they're at least recognizing why D3 was a crappy diablo game, but just making your game darker and gorier isn't going to fix all the problems that game had.

That's like saying 'I was expecting a kick in the balls but had all my teeth knocked out', clearly there are degrees to their shitty behaviour. Nobody expected it to be this bad. They've set a new precedent for how low they can go.
It doesn't matter if you're spending money or not. Many people are and that's what dictates the market and future games, until eventually you will be spending money. I will never understand this blasé attitude as the gaming industry continues to sink lower and lower.
Yeah you can waste your time without spending a dime and have some fun but as a free player there are so many hidden caps that it doesnt make fun for playing more than 30 mins a day cause then the caps kick in and you farm basically for nothing which is actually a big part of Diablo.
As a non money spender you are dumbed down to the max. I watch some friends on stream when they play (non payer) and its rough to see that you gain nothing apart from maybe 1 legendary a day if lucky and some measly XP. Its a fucking chore and not rewarding the slightest as soon as you hit Paragon levels.
Btw. here is a screen of what 40k or more will let you get if youre lucky.
