Well there are a lot of closet woke people trying to play it that way. "Im not woke, but this aint woke type of arguments". With no examples its: give concrete example. With examples its hostile reactions or gaslighting. Always moving goalposts instead of just fucking acknowledging what we should all know by now and either support it or not.
Hostile reactions says it all though. You wouldnt react in a volatile way for something you dont care about.
This 100%, when ppl react like that i just label them as u mentioned it perfectly , closet woke ppl, and proceed to not engage in discussion with them, its not worth my time.
You gotta be really thick or just closet woke person if you cant see this dialog... its rly not subtle.
The lenght that they go to be woke is actualy surprising, at some point on ep 3, about timothy the octopus, the deep mentions the octo by SHE and HE multiple times, and the octopus is at one point hinted to be a source of pleasure for him, so yeah, they are definatly treading a weird woke level of writing in this show, and yes i can see the satire, the humor and the woke, they are all very cleverly intertwined at times, other times its just forced and not subtle at all. When you cant decide on a gender of an animal on a show and a earlier on on the gender of a child, you know you have problems.
But this thread as told me one thing, people do not pay enough attention to dialog on tv/movies, this is all stuff that is pretty blunt and obvious and yet its going over a lot of peeps heads and they pass it on as "its all satire" "dont u understand satire?" , more like, you cant tell more than the satire that is going on, or read between the lines at all, but its ok, because they make it pretty confusing at times for the average viewer to actualy see it.
The examples me and Stormwolf gave are pretty obvious and are def a huge redflag when it comes to woke content.
This show is not like seinfeld levels of humor that needs a laugh track either, its called dark humor and its pretty well done, that is not the issue, the issue is the heavy handed woke pandering dialog riddled with agenda behind it.
Its not exactly difficult to recognize humor in this show. Not all of the woke stuff is serious, but it is immersion breakingly dropped a few times with little context. First episodes were the worst

yeah, exactly, its lacking context big time when they mentioned all these out of nowhere, its a big reason why i say its blunt and heavy handed, its just like someone went into the script and inserted it in there randomly.
if you talk all day about woke this woke that, eventually woke is what all youll ever see, just ask vurt

or just ask StEFAN how much in denial you can be... i bet STeFan can orgasm through his ears while being ass fucked and he would still say it's not gay, it's only how we "chose to view it" lol... i only call out the worst shit, which is rare.

pretentious much?
Not any less pretentious than what you've been saying for a while
Y'all wrong. Wokeness is part of the boys world. Been there since s01. They use it over the top just like the gore. To hide the shitty story telling. That's all it is. Show is very normal. It ain't woke. It ain't anti-woke. It lives in its own established universe. Where wokeness is common. Normal. Plain. And not a sore sight.
Stop picking bait apart. You won't find what you like.
It is intentional. You're absolutely right. But for the wrong reasons though. just like how the gore is in your face, so is the wokeism and other messages. It's a very shallow show that's why the extremes are there.

We're both speaking english, yet we're talking different languages regardless. You are talking about the mockery of hijab seven and black lives matter, and i agree with you your points there. But the fempower woke lines you hear mostly in the beginning were not in line with that and 100% sure is modern feminism at play.
It's not. It's been there since the beginning. Obvious. And subtle. Both. But kept within the reality of the world. Which mimics our current twitter world. There will be radfems and you'll laugh at them. They will talk about non binary progressive shit and at the same time commit rape and other non woke things.
I'm just surprised at how worked up and truly invested some of us get with a couple may-not-be-ironic woke lines in a superhero TV series with a lot more packed into it - they were a couple of those who you could doubt were ironic at all in the previous seasons as well, it's not new to this third season either.
I'm just not enjoying reading entire fucking pages about it in every single thread provided there's any slim chance to discuss the subject once again.
The original comics was written before woke was a thing and tbh, it's more of a constant stream of hardcore, over-the-top vulgarity (which I loved and is hilarious, but it has little subtlety and conveys little message other than "everything sucks") than anything, it critiques the US society and mainly how it treats sexuality, but it was nothing groundbreaking either.

I'd say it's more "superheroes suck" than "everything sucks".

Yeah, that's more accurate
Spoiler:
Butch just kinda felt like "everything sucks" by the end, as if not only superheroes, but anyone with "too" good intentions, Hugie more or less included at that point, would automatically be tainted and bad. Even if he knew he was wrong in believing that, the sad bastard !
