I'd be surprised if the silicone strap made a difference haha. It got to the point of where even the thought of playing made me queasy. Like when you're hungover and the thought of vodka or even thinking about the smell of it makes you wanna barf.

I gotta try again at some point because Alyx was definitely amazing to play.

It's coming Monday. \o/
Prime said it'll come tomorrow and upon checkout said Monday Sad
Got the 128gb one. Don't need much more. Only a handful of games/experiences I'm interested in.

All this for ocean rift, maybe vacation simulator, and Pavlov through link cable \o/

Yeah link cable isn't really worth using imo. Doesn't come with any kind of benefit.

I don't know yet. Haven't used the quest yet.
Don't you need wifi6 set up for purrfect game streaming? I don't have that.

No. I got a new router because i thought that it somehow would give better latency to have that, i measured before/after, there was zero difference. I asked on reddit and a few other places and yeah, it's useless. well, not useless perhaps i think it might have somewhat better reach.

cable free is the way to go, especially with kids.

if its mainly for the kid/s then maybe quest isn't optimal... i would look for one where the IPD can be set really low. it's probably not great if its too high. i mean for a short period here and there it's probably no biggie but you don't want to mess up their eyes, they're still developing everything after all...

Oh no more than 10 minutes.
And ocean rift is on quest 2 from what I researched. Their website is so doodoo.
Vacation simulator has hand tracking.
Maybe another hand tracking game.

For me it's gorn, Pavlov (through link), will try Pavlov shack, and maybe some other experiences. That's all I'm willing to waste monies on lol. Everything else piracy since from what I read sideloaded apps are in their own category. Ultrawings 2 is also on quest.

Pavlov / Pavlov shack if good on quest will make the quest worth its monies.

Pirated games show up in the "unknown sources" category at the bottom, not with the other apps.
Unless you launch another app-launcher first which then can also show pirated apps together with the others, but what's the point of that honestly, needing to launch an app to launch an app.

Great little device.
House defender caught my interest and will be testing it out tomorrow.

Resident Evil 4 (Quest)
Cosmodread (Quest/PCVR)
Walkabout Mini Golf (Quest)
Propagation (PCVR)
Star Wars Squadrons (PCVR)
Stride (Quest)

Then there are modded games such as Alien Isolation, Resident Evil 2-3 and soon Half-Life 2, Resident Evil 7..

Can recommend this one too. Good fun with friends!
Also No Man's Sky I would suggest a try if you already have it. Wouldn't say buy it for it.
On monitor I cant get into No mans, but in VR with the hand tracking to do thing I can do a few hours here and there and enjoy the VR of it.

Wish there was a good 'real' golf game. I have never played golf in real life or any desire to. 3/4 of your time is spent chasing the ball and not hitting it Razz A video game takes out that 'downtime'.
Golf on PC is fun and would love it in VR. But the full realistic 18 hole golf games you can buy all are bugged, bad, or basically abandoned.

You still need a pc for a Quest 2?

Where did you bought it from in Ro?

I got it from emag. I'm not sure what games can you play without a PC, probably those small ones in their store, definitely not those that I mentioned.

asgards wrath is also on quest..

Also Moss.

On the FFA loader you can (in addition to all official Quest games) also find VR ports of HL1, Quake 2, Doom 3 and such and they run natively on the Quest.

For racing I recommend mini moto. It's fun, intuitive and can get you immersed.
I'd also try contracts. The FFA version works online, however mod server doesn't.
If you're into gay (star) wars, I'd recommend their vr experiences, but to me they're shit. Lol.
And of course pavlov shack beta. Free. Fun. Gets a while to get used to, once you're into it it gets better.

I'm gonna try that table top rpg demeo or whatever that is. See how its like.

Us quest2 fags should play together sometime lol.

Also next time, anyone who's gonna buy it, ask us for referral links. You'll get 30$ dollaroos store credit. We'll get it too Surprised

wait, that's confusing. You install asgard wrath on your pc, not on your quest device. And its on the oculus store, not on quest ?! Sorry I'm noob at this, don't confuse me further

If you buy virtual desktop you can stream PCvr games like HL alyx and project cars and others. As well rift/rifts games. Or you can use usbc cable and pretty much use it a a PCvr headset and play hl alyx and others. Streaming is nicer. Low latency as well.

with the cable you're also streaming afaik.

The only advantage of quest games is better latency and you don't need to connect anything (cable or software). just buy and play. graphics is usually a bit worse.

some games are available in 2 versions, Quest or PCVR on steam.. e.g asgards wrath

Yea sadly the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 can't handle full resolution uncompressed video output via it's USB interfaces, so they made it a compressed video stream

Hope in future headsets they make it DP Alt Mode capable USB-C

Cause imho you can always tell, especially in darker scenes, really anything with a lot of gradients

Wireless is so shit. Takes 2.5 hours to charge for 2 hours of gameplay. Repeat. Will have to wait and see how long does the battery last with a link cable. I heared the battery is still draining, slower though, even if pluged.
