Uncharted - 6/10
Easy entertainment for people not aware of the games.

Moonfall - 5/10
Classic Emme-End-the-world-rich. Even more goofy than Independence day 2 imo. Same low quality CGI though.
Holy fuck how dark it was.

I edited my previous post, I meant IPD 2 - just to be sure Smile

It is disturbing that studios allow for cheap CGI within (mostly) static scenes.

Hollyweird needs to be replaced by young experienced folk. Budgets will go crazy for a few years but it'll level out asap. Even Disney movies lack good CGI these days. No real progress.

Stuff I've seen lately:

Miracle Mile (1989) 7/10

Guy picks up phone ringing at a booth, and a voice on the other side says the nukes are going to drop in 60 minutes.

Don't remember seeing this before. It's not too bad, and has lots of known actors from the time.

Flesh Gordon (1974) 6/10

Good old '70s titties movie Mr. Green Super cheaply made, could feature on Best of the Worst, but it's actually pretty good, for what it is. It's all in the enthousiasm Smile And lots of tits.

It's truly hilarious at times. When Dr Jerkoff Wink exits the spaceship for the first time, takes a deep breath and goes "Aah, good, there's oxygen on this planet", you knoiw they knew what they were making. Laughing

The Innocents (2021) 8/10

Norwegian fantasy/horror, about 4 children discovering they have special powers. It gets quite fucked up at times, and the kids' acting is really good and believable.

Superman The Movie (1978) & Superman II (1980) 7/10 & 7.5/10

They're both still good movies, although the first one is very slow. The ending where he reverses the Earth's rotation and thus time, obviously, still sucks Laughing
Second one is a lot more fun with Zod and the other 2.

The Butterfly Effect (2004) 8/10

It's dark & depressing, but I've always liked this one, and it's still good. Version I rewatched had the alternative ending, in which he strangles himself when still inside the womb. I can see why they changed it Laughing The movie really needed to end at least somewhat uplifting, the theatrical ending is still sad enough.

The Northman - 7/10

Viscerality and aesthetic can't hide a thin plot. Has a bunch of good scenes tho!

Yep i remember the release, the special effects were unparalleled at the time. Now special effects are just common place so Emmerich can't really stand on that alone. I didn't mind ID2 for similar reasons to Moonfall, it doesn't take itself seriously and is kinda intentionally stupid, its not quiet parody levels but dances a fine line.

Good recommendations, not seen half of those.

Sonic 2 - 6.5/10

As a kid who played all the Sonic Megadrive games, this was a blast. As a grown man trying to enjoy the script and characters (as wrong as it is with a movie of this caliber) was okay-ish. Tails, Dr Robotnik and Knuckles were the MVPs.

Yeah, the premise is great, and the ending is nice and unexpected too. It's just that the plot is often a bit too convenient, that it gets annoying at times Wink But it's definitely recommended

Sonic 2 (2022) 5,5/10

Well it was worse than the first one, but only by a ltitle. Still entertaining and would watch the possible sequel. Smile

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) 7/10

It was quite good overall and visually impressive, but I so fucking hate kids in movies...they are always so bad at acting and those damn family scenes are cringe to watch. Laughing

The Lost City: 8/10
Wow! Where did this come from? Thought it was going to be a boring PG-13 flick. Nope, this was hilarious! Brad Pitt was great for the very short time! And I knew I remembered that guy from Miracle workers!!! Sandra and Tatum were great together! Funny jokes, well paced, great acting, just good old fashion fun! Recommended!

The Lost City (2022) 6/10

It was kind of refreshing to watch this kind of an action/adventure movie. Some of the jokes landed quite well, others didn't but overall it was ok.
Sandra Bullock looked quite bored most of the movie though, the same as Halle Berry in Moonfall.
I mean I get that some of it was her character, but you'd think she would show some more emotions when shit happens. Laughing

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness - 6.5/10

The script was weak as fuck, Sam Raimi did what he could. I couldn't fucking stand that Strange a grown up, inteligent man can't get over some thot. Every fucking time it was mentioned I felt weak in my seat. Also the antagonist can kill a male superhero in a second but has to fight for five minutes with female Captain whose only power is throwing a shield

RLM and TCD summed it up pretty well.

The Kill Team 7/10: A young American soldier in Afghanistan is disturbed by his commanding officer's behavior and is faced with a moral dilemma. Based loosely on a true story as movies do, Alexanda Skarsgard and lead give decent performances.
