seems VRR is already out (patched in previously, enabled now) but the list of supported displays is embarrassingly short
it's also limited to 48-120hz on a system level so even if your display has a better range you can't make use of it.
with that, the hope of maybe using this to mitigate bloodborne frame pacing is also out the window
overall quite disappointing

Damn HDR gaming is amazing on PS5, got finally one, looks so god damn good on OLED. Too bad it feels there is no any good exclusive games and what the hell, the playstation store prices are insane?.

Yeah prices are high, still waiting for R&C Rift Apart to drop lower then $50, that's the lowest it's been.
Maybe get a PlayStation Plus Extra on June for month or two since at launch it will have games like Death Stranding, Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Returnal, hopefully with more games like Demon's Souls and Rift Apart later on.
I got 2 years of Now a couple of weeks ago when it was $60 for year, it will convert to PS Plus Premium in June so looking forward to try the above games. it also has Shadow Warrior 3 so played that for now.

check deals. i have seen the disc version of ratchet and clank for under 30 multiple times in the last weeks.

After a couple years (damn has ps5 been out that long...) the haptics are mostly annoying to me. Especially any game that requires fast trigger pulls, the resistance added to the trigger is not appreciated.
There are a few games like Returnal that are pretty damn good, but even that game goes way overboard with the effects.
edit: ok, year and a half. fuckin covid has destroyed all sense of time.

To me the DualSense is the worst controller build wise i've ever had.
In a year and a half i already have 2 big problems, 2 months ago my r2 spring broked and i had to wait almost a month untill my new springs came from china, was hard to replace the damn spring and took me almost an hour, now works like new. other problem also a month ago i started to have stick drift on the left stick and it's driving me nuts, did some fixs i saw online and sometimes it helps but after a day or two the drift returns. damn shame as it's a good controller but this is unacceptable and i don't want to buy a new DS and get the same problems.

That is why there is a new revision of the controller. the problems should be gone with this newer version.
for me the ps5 controller is the best controller i ever had, even if it will break down, it feels so much better then everything i ever had.
and for now it even holds longer. most xbox controller i had were broken from the beginning. let it be stick drift or a button not working correctly. A button was the worse.

The battery laughable is laughable compared to the Xbox one. The Elite 2 I have holds charge for weeks, if not longer, whereas the PS5 controller holds for days at most. It's so short, I thought it was a faulty controller at first, but apparently, having 8-15 hours of gameplay is standard and Pussy5 fanbois are happy about it on Retardeddit.  |
