Damn, I wish I had taken the effort to look this up a long time ago. You know the sites that you open, you scroll down only to watch the page become static and a splash image saying something like "Thank you for visiting our website. Please create an account blabla". uBlock's element picker can't be used... BUT.. adding this to my ublock filter list solved it: replace_with_real_adress.com##body,html:style(overflow: auto !important) Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! Nice added too.. Been annoying me for a while actually. When talking about peeves and scrolling i absolutely hate the endless pits of endless scrolling sites. I have a modern computer and a fast fiber connection, let me fucking load a ton at a time and keep that slow loading scroll shit somewhere else.

like on the guardian news website? ublock origin - block inline scripts and whole page is readable - works on 99% of the websites

nice, i was always able to remove the filters and blockers but couldn't be bothered finding how to get the scroll bar back.. until a couple of days ago, i figured it out. i actually do this manually by selecting the main body and searching for overflow using f12 in firefox Laughing

you should have looked this up a year ago.. so i would have known too Laughing

if anyone needs to know how to remove elements that block a page in mozilla firefox:
f12 to open development console
right-click the annoying part of the page
press q to select top-most element
highlighted blue in the console -> right click that to hide/delete it

god forbid they work out how to mangle the source code and you have to use greasemonkey to restore it.

This is very specific, many sites apply it to more than the body and/or truncate the article content
