just caught these benchmarks. This game seems to love Ampere. A 3080 is a mind blowing 55% faster than a 2080TI. And its near double the performance of a 6800XT. I dont think theres another game with this discrepancy between Turing and Ampere
The 6800XT around half of the 3080's frame rate? Must be a fuck-tonne of buyers remorse for AMD GPU purchases this gen
all this hype n marketing buzzwurds about this game can mean only one thing, that its dogshit, runs crap, and all this time they spent on parcour bullshit will be wasted and itll be a borefest n fps drop fest
and look here, confirmed my spidy senses when marketing starts buzzing out all the buzzwords
It doesn't feel like an extension of the first. It feels like Ubisoft made a zombie game. Mandatory compass + 'follow' icons, can't disable in-world icons (even with hud set to minimal, on hard mode), xray vision, too many scripted sections that ruin the flow (just let me run around, damn it!), and the characters are generic as hell.

Aw man that sounds so annoying. I hate not being able to hide icons. I always disable all that in every game and refer to a map when I need to
ASUS Maximus XII Formula | Core i9 10900k @ 5.2Ghz | 32GB G.Skill DDR4 4200Mhz | EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hydro Copper | ASUS ROG PG35VQ
They only seem to hide when you're close enough to them. The 'follow' ones don't seem to hide at all.
The game might be okay overall, but I think I'll wait for a GPU upgrade and a few patches first. It runs decently enough, but with RT on it dips all over the place. With RT off it's really nothing special to look at.

my bullet points from 4 hours on hard, more or less just got to the actual open-world
constant spamming of survival sense to see zombies and items.. absolutely retarded. get this utter dogshit out of the game, it's not needed, why can we not just see zombies with our normal vision can't stress how bad this is, it creates visual noise of the highest order seeing shit through walls.
intro story/long winded tutorial is fairly boring, cliche kind of crap. it's okay but betrays the game a bit and some might get bored before they even get to the real game. dying light was kind of the same.
combat seems like a downgrade from dying light 1 (from my memory? ), animations/feedback/physics/sound.. effects like blood are probably better here. maybe i'll warm up to it, bandits are a bit more lively at least... overall combat still far too easy, except having to use active dodge against volatiles, another genius idea the game didn't need.
stamina is an irritant in early game, and drains quickly even if you are not actually climbing, literally here just for players to have something to upgrade.
performance is average on my 1070, setting just about everything to low actually helped a lot with visual clarity, win win performance is certainly not bad here in the main city.
so with all that out of the way, i'm obviously pretty colorful about the game now.. but once you get to the actual open world after the hospital, the trashy zoomer features give way to a real nice environment to run around in and now i'm feeling quite positive about the game from here, it seems quite huge, you can climb quickly and on just about anything and there seems to be an awful lot going on in the city.
Shill-Up actually acknowledges how shitty it is that you have to spam the "ping" button for everything. I think he genuinely didn't like the game because of it. But since he's a paid shill he can't shit on the game too much.
He even tries to make the excuse that it's "a indie game if you go by the exact definition of the term" lol.. so having 400 employees, being a multi-million dollar company, having 100 people (same as Skyrim had) work on the game - "it's a indie, we have to perhaps lower our expectations!"

Ever since rdna 2 came out, i thought its the worst gpu related purchase since the radeon brand exists. You're basically paying 1000+ dollars for a next gen gpu - that cant do next gen stuff. DLSS, RT, Reflex, etc. Imagine for some reason opting to shell out 1000 plus dollars for a 6900XT, and needing to play Cyberpunk at 900p so you dont drop bellow 60 with RT. Starting Dying Light 2 and getting 40 frames for the 1% at 1080p. If one wants a gpu and cant get an nvidia card, just wait until you can. rdna2 isnt worth it

i don't think it's enough to ruin the game, they just turned looting and stealth/combat into much faster streamlined affairs (hooray).. but the whole thing is such a fucking middle management idea. i can only imagine they were playing the game and thought it was too much effort to look for loot or see zombies. heaven forbid you get surprised by a zombie or miss a container of crap.
not much point in the game being as dark as doom 3 if you are just gonna let the player outline everything. so irritating thinking about it

Based on their Denuvo reasoning its been over 1500 developers on the game, def. not indie.

Doesn't sound good with the ubishit comparisons and a "ping" button to spot items and... zombies too?

I played for about 2 hours and the animations and writing are laughable so far. Nobody seems to be able to handle staircases in this game.
The graphics are quite unimpressive, to say the least. Ray tracing is mandatory to get a decent visual experience and the performance hit is huge. I can't seem AMD cards handling this.
Nick930’s Dying Light 2 vs Dying Light video. He states in the video that he reached out to techland and they said that the ragdolls are quite buggy as of right now and they are working on a fix.
hopefully they do get on top of it, it's just not as good as the original combat and you notice it straight away.
I'm not surprised about the game's direction, it felt evident from the recent footage and #yolo tone of the Q&A sessions that this was going to be considerably more game-y and less immersive than the (perhaps over-ambitious) initial pitch - or the first game itself + expansion, which had its flaws but could still be very atmospheric.
Add to that the poor management, visions changing overnight and multiple writers involved in the project and the chances of giving birth to a stale colourful Ubi-like minestrone increase tenfold. It's a shame, but again not unexpected.
Game is close to 200k CC on steam. Its almost definitely going past 200k this weekend. Can't quite say i understand why its so popular. This type of engagement would put it in the 1%. It will be among the best performing games ever

Whats 200k? What is CC? Choice and consequence? that's CandC.

Overall, I'm definitely happy with it so far. It's just what I hoped and thought it would be from the videos I saw.
If you loved Dying Light 1, you'll very likely enjoy this one as well.
yeah its still a ton of fun running around, looting everything, stomping heads, and the environment is top tier indeed. i reckon the combat was way better in DL1 though and i miss all the xray bone breaking stuff and guns.

Over 200k already. Pretty crazy considering the first game had a peak of 45k.
gameplay is fun, my only complaint is that running / movement feels a bit weird or floaty or something
also when following npcs, they seem to vibrate / stutter in place as they move
survivor sense needs fixing, maybe limit to in the same room as you? but it sucks when in buildings and can pretty much blind you with visual garbage
writing wise, it's kinda bad and i'm not really sold on this story of finding the sister and the flashbacks are kinda cringe
also an awkward thing that stuck in my mind was how at the start, spike just goes, "man it's time we parted ways cause i'm starting to care" out of the blue lol
wonder just how good the writing would be if they didn't dump avellone just because someone made some bs claims while 'journos' called the guy a sexual harasser but it's ok they added 'alleged' to the sentence so they're safe and don't need to update their shit reporting
I really want to like this game because I got the Ultimate Edition but I just don't. I find it boring AF. Aside of all the things that have already been mentioned here, spidy senses to locate good containers and running around for 30 minutes trying to find an entry point to the building gets old quick...
Once the open world opened up I got side tracked and starting doing random shit. I guess I hop back on the main quest, hope it gets better and get it done and over with.
