Dying Light 2 devs have now clarified their 500 hour statement:

We wanted to clarify our recent communication about the amount of hours required to complete the game. Dying Light 2: Stay Human is designed for players with different gameplay styles and preferences to explore the world how they see fit.

https://twitter.com/DyingLightGame/status/1480633241937891328

And there's an image attached to it saying:

20 hours for the main story
80 hours to finish main story and all side quests
500 hours for the above + all the collectibles, multiple story paths and so on

100 hours is way to long for a game like this. This can't be good.

Finished the first Dying Light @ 11 hours playtime. No rush, just doing the main objectives.
I don't understand why they do more side missions than the main story missions. Is it for people with no free time who want to complete it anyway and do short and boring side quests after that. If they are cool, it's fine, but still...invest your time in longer main campaign, damn it... Embarassed

It's easier and cheaper to add side missions/collect-em-all content than having a bigger narrative with all that entails. They can copy/paste them around the map.

I know a few people that never finish games because they are burnt out by all the boring and repetetive side missions.

You could kill them from the first night, luring them into the UV light was a viable tactic.

I can't force myself to watch this fake ass bearded douchebag that feels the urge to yap about everything, fake excitement, fake freakouts, fake everything.

That said I'm loving the art design. Gameplay wise looks like DL1.5 but we'll see how other systems deliver. I'm definately looking forward to this one.

That is correct. It gave me an error when doing a quick reply, so I backed out, submitted again, same thing, and then it worked.

Just like the youtuber that wanted to emphasize how surprised he was by game events or terrified of zombies. The hump database be laggy as fuck though, I had to wait a good 10s before it registered the submit button.

Your wish is my command - triple post = single post now.

And yes, ze hump has become laggy as heck and I've also double/triple posted when things really started to get really slow a while back.
