TBH I'm fine with that. I've that much work on already this year and I'm also ripping the back of my house down and building a new extension. I'm not going to have time to play it. Back end of the year is fine by me

My sentiment exactly. Obviously the game isn't up to scratch at this point and they need nearly a year to complete it which is just fine with me as long as they can deliver a good experience in the end.
yeah, delayed does NOT need to mean "not rushed"... then you are naive. CP is indeed a good example of that where i guess they scrapped the game almost entirely and then went on to make a really rushed game because patience and time was running out and was wasted already.
Very much expected, as there are still many question marks surrounding the whole thing which demand answers. Here's hoping it won't turn into another sad trombone, though having practically zero expectations as always does help.
It's not a problem either way, I shall keep cheekibreeking the glorious Anomaly and its mods for another year or twoor threeor forever!
Yeah, but the original game had proper and ample footage since the game was announced. We got a ton of footage over the years. The cut content was neccesary in order to ship the game this millenium, cause those guys were shooting for the moon, they actually wanted to make the game to end all games. The cut features were after THQ sent their fixer to put the fucking game in order, cause at the time we were calling it Stalker Forever, since it started resembling that and it was never coming out.
This game on the other hand feels like a hack, like some ruse. Other than a few curated, bullshit scenes we have nothing, even though the game was supposed to come out in 3 months until a few days ago. The studio owner just closed shop back in 2012 and lost all the employees. And somehow out of nowhere he just got a new team together and just made this big, AAA, complex game and one of the first to be fully on UE5. Sounds hard to believe

Exactly. More and more it seems like some vaporware BS "using" the franchise's face

The original suffered from feature creep, underestimating the amount of work, poor managment and inexperience shipping a game. On the other hand it was, after the gamestopping bugs had been fixed, one of the most engrossing and unique experiences in PC gaming which is still loved and played.
As far as I know there's not a single person from the original team working on this game. Heck, a bunch of them left to form 4A even before the first stalker was released, another bunch left (presumably after Call of Pripyat) to form Vostok Games. Neither of the two Anton's who designed the original games have anything to do with this afaik. I am skeptical of what this new game will be and I'm worried it will be tailored into a linear shooter with all the RPG elements dropped.
At least I'm 100% certain it's not a pure scam like Areal or Stalker: Apocalypse were.
