So they added controller support but resolution and black levels are still broken? oh wow.
Dualsense is great but wired is so bad. I wish sony just added normal support and dongle. Their pulse 3d headphones works ok on pc with the dongle

Why would anyone care about controller support in a shooter on pc
Well i played it with pc controls of course but nothing wrong to lean back

Wow, what a fucking great game. I have no idea how this could have slipped under my radar for so long, luckily the Enhanced Edition caught my interest.
I don't really have any negative comments about this game, other than that it is too easy. Would have been great to have the mutators (stronger and especially more aware enemies, more weather impact) for my first playthrough. Without them, it's just too easy to cheese the enemy AI and if your headshot game is on point, halfway through each level you are swimming in ressources, which is not the scarcity this games tries to get across.
The last section of the main game started tense with low ressources, but then you get the super strong rifle which pretty much one-shots everything and has super cheap ammunition, so that you don't need anything else for the rest of the game.
The section with the boat and large worms at the end was really great. Although the little spitting worms were a bit of a nuisance, the whole section overall had a very "Half-Life"-feel to it, which is the highest praise you will ever get from me.
If there is one thing I could wish for in this game, is that they should make even better usage of their lighting and environment tech during fights. There were a few sections where you have low visibility in a sandstorm or when you need to push against a sunset and have limited visibility, that was fucking awesome. More of that please! The 2nd DLC shows they also know how to use fog efficiently, so enemies using smoke grenades would have been a great opportunity to organically push the player to switch from long-distance fights to close quarter encounters with limited vision.
Technically the Enhanced Edition runs great on my 2060Super, only a few glitches with lighting here or there.

I am replaying this right now (the rtx version).
First of all: there is this -deependark launch dommand 100% needed to make the game not look like washe out piece of shit in comparison to ps5 version or the original on pc. I have no idea why there is this white grey filter on the screen normally. Whom decision was this...
And now that I am replaying it for 3rd time in total - god.,.. there is so much talking. And it's the weirdest thing because you never respond. So EVERY CHARACTER you walk on in your train will talk to you. For like straight fucking 10 minutes.
The funny thing is - he might ask you to find a teddy bear at the end. So you stand there like a fucking moron for 7 minutes in front of every npc, because they might mark something on your map. And it's crazy because it's like side npc banter but actually a quest giver
The graphics and shooting are both great. Weapon upgrades are well done and engaging. But the pace of that game is not good. And it crashes like a motherfucker still... and hdr is still terrible on pc.
aaaand then they take the camera away from you with everything you do. You hold E and it will take away your control for every damn action. And the sound sucks ass too. The weird noises of grunting and breathing with fighting noises that sound like someone is bending cardboard. It's that jank stalker audio engineering
So I kinda hate this game but also, I think I just love the train travel concept, the areas, the shooting. Some characters are genuinely very good like Sam... because he speaks THE RIGHT AMOUNT. Anna is the worst. Miller too.
oh and don't bother with stealth. Just go guns blazing on every level, spare few dudes in volga and you will get the good ending.

dont bump untill free on epic store ffs so i can complete my collection without ever paying a dime to this stalker inspired devolution of stalker gameplay
How's exodus with the AI companions? I couldn't stand the annoying tagalong AI in the first game (though i finished it). It really annoyed me when i was trying to get immersed and you'd get that constant "Artyom! This way Artyom!" It's like they took the worst part about games and doubled down.
What a fantastic game. Just finished it and it's DLC's. The forced stealth and not being able to kill everything that walks on 2 feet still sucks, but the game was a blast.
I liked the first 2 games more though. I enjoy being utterly isolated way better than being around helpful guys who always pull me out of trouble as Artyom always become weak as a noodle when he's got friends around, or a train full of people who each seems to talk for 10 minutes between every story segment. But it was a damn well written game and the story and zones you got to explore were quite epic except Caspian desert. I hate deserts.
Colonels didn't serve much purpose, i agree. Just adding to a character you met in the very last level and to be a heroic sendoff for Miller. Although varied in gameplay, it was forgettable.
Sam's campaign though was a bit more relevant. He did mention during dialogues that he wants to meet his family again. The other characters were content with following Artyom and their story ended. From this cast Sam was the only one left to make a DLC out of afaik. My only real gripe is that the story had absolutely NO conclusion to anything. Will Tom become a bad guy? will Sam find his family? It was way too open ended and i loathe open endings as they're simply pointless.
It enhanced and completed the self-'sacrifice' theme from the game. It was something truly special. Khlebnikov stayed with me for a while after finishing the game. Without him...
Spoiler:
... everyone in that train / Artyom included would be really fucked.
Perhaps I appreciate this differently also because I have a son the age of Kirill.
On a related note, according to quite a few reports the development of Exodus' sequel is proceeding well and the game could (potentially) be released next year. Hopefully the single-player/story-driven focus will be there as per tradition, though I guess only time will tell.
I actually haven't touched the DLCs yet since I'm planning to replay the whole thing with ®TX blyatpowers in the future. It definitely was a solid experience though, not without its dose of consolish sins but ultimately, it would be unrealistic to expect more considering the extra-pitiful state of big-budget shooters these days.
Farming, planting trees, making babies, building outposts, exploring, gathering people, growing society, creating politics, left wing, right wing, middle wing... All the possibilities!1
I dunno how that'll work. Sounds like It'll turn Metro into something quite different. I'm a simple guy, i just enjoy delving into huge metros or caves completely in complete solitude with a lingering feeling of hopelessness held over me
