Why not just handle it like Rage 2 and just say it's coming.. Spin it in a funny way and don't make up shit.

Great, can't wait for a 'Games as a Service' Splinter Cell. lol wut

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

The guy who voices Sam in the Italian version (Luca Ward, pretty damn good actually) has been posting various Splinter Cell-related images on social media in the past few weeks also. I believe something really is brewing in the Ubicauldron, though it's objectively difficult to have expectations for anything Calancy-ian these days. We'll see I guess.

That's even worse than 'Games as a Service'. I guess pissing on Sam isn't enough, they have to shit on him too. Reaction

Ubisoft's Splinter Cell game that is in early development is currently scoped as a... You guessed it... Open World of sorts.

"A more stealthy version of Assassin's Creed"

"Similar to how Halo Infinite has done its Open World"

If it's more Metal Gear 5 than Assassin's creed then welcome, but I guess the chances of that are nearly zero Laughing

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Not even mad. If it comes out true to the original with just better graphics, it's already 1E+1123123% better than any modern Ubishite game. Laughing

Paired with the open world rumours and how Clint Hocking is now, I'm not holding my breath about this being any better than the current Ubi output Laughing

The blog post seems to be indicating that Ubi's vision for the remake is the correct one, it will be the classic linear Splinter Cell experience from 2002 - with just a few minor changes aimed at making the product more fresh and pleasing to newcomers.

Speaking of which, a promising work-in-progress concept was released as well:

As bad as what Ixi made is, I don't think it's as bad as what Ubisoft will do to the game.

"A director on the project at Ubisoft stated that the game will be reimagined with modern day mechanics forgoing the boring stealth that bogged down the last game for more action and gunplay. Sam will also find himself dealing with modern day politics based off the events of 1/6"

This listing (spotted by PSU) is for a scriptwriter and reads: "Using the first Splinter Cell game as our foundation we are rewriting and updating the story for a modern-day audience".

The post goes on to state that Ubisoft intends to "keep the spirit and themes of the original game" with this remake while "exploring [its] characters and the world to make them more authentic and believable."

The job description closes with Ubisoft stating it is looking for a writer who can create a "cohesive and compelling narrative experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans".

Ubisoft announced its plans to remake Splinter Cell in December last year. At this time, the company said this game is being built "from the ground up" with updated visuals and improved design elements to "match player comfort and expectations".
