Why not just handle it like Rage 2 and just say it's coming.. Spin it in a funny way and don't make up shit.

The guy who voices Sam in the Italian version (Luca Ward, pretty damn good actually) has been posting various Splinter Cell-related images on social media in the past few weeks also. I believe something really is brewing in the Ubicauldron, though it's objectively difficult to have expectations for anything Calancy-ian these days. We'll see I guess.

Ubisoft's Splinter Cell game that is in early development is currently scoped as a... You guessed it... Open World of sorts.

Not even mad. If it comes out true to the original with just better graphics, it's already 1E+1123123% better than any modern Ubishite game.

Paired with the open world rumours and how Clint Hocking is now, I'm not holding my breath about this being any better than the current Ubi output
1 and 2 are still amazing.

The blog post seems to be indicating that Ubi's vision for the remake is the correct one, it will be the classic linear Splinter Cell experience from 2002 - with just a few minor changes aimed at making the product more fresh and pleasing to newcomers.
Speaking of which, a promising work-in-progress concept was released as well:

As bad as what Ixi made is, I don't think it's as bad as what Ubisoft will do to the game.
