Well, if you are into Ubisoft's tired copy paste formula and villains that are more cartoony than what you usually find in the Far Cry series, you'll most likely love this average shooter.

I only played a bit of this, because its not really grabbing me or making me want to play, but so far it just copies Far Cry 3 from almost a decade ago. Forts to liberate, random towers to capture and fairly long drives to points of interest with nothing interesting in between.
So, those 2 reviewers on reeera, butting heads on this. Seems the guy who said this is nothing like Crysis and its copying ubisoft was dead on the money. The other one was surely doing drugs of some kind, trying to imply this is profoundly different.

How does this game has ONLY 'Very Positive' reviews on Steam, considering the absolute shit performance even on 30xx cards?!

Bad performance seems to be related to the DLC HD texture pack

Ubisoft should teach these people how to make open world games. At least their stuff looks much better.

Ubisoft should stay away from open world games.

That's like saying:
Microsoft should stay away from operating systems.

Microsoft should stay away from operating systems. | Both should stay away from copy-pasting their latest with barely any difference between. While also not really addressing the flaws from the product that came before or just adding some quick band aid on top

Its not even like newer Far Cry, its Far Cry 3 and 4, from almost a decade ago. Far Cry 5 actually mixed things up in regards to how the world and the activities are layed out, the density, how you get the missions.
This game, just like most sony open world games, are copying Ubisoft's template from 10 years ago that they dont even use anymore.
Reviewers who went out of their way to say how this is not like FC, this is Crysis, need to be smaked upside the head. They just straight lied.

This is just yet another Halo, the usual Metacritic masderpiece. Doesn't feel any less consolish than the previous titles, the rudimentary open-word structure doesn't really bring anything new or interesting to the table, both the level/enemy design and visuals are on the generic side, the story is very caricaturesque. It's a game that's principally targeted at the fans of the franchise, which is the reason why I had to put Master Chèf back into a space coma after just a couple of hours.

I liked the shooting in this. And the large (interior) environments.
Can't take seriously any generic story they throw at the player. Not to mention the asinine characters / antagonists...
If they('ll) fix the abysmal performance, I'll continue playing it. One day...

The game is good. Gunplay is fun, production values are good. And for those that think it's bad, it's open world Halo, what did you expect otherwise?

I played this for a few hours. There's several things bugging me (leaving out the generic design choices):
1. The game pretty much blows it's load right in the first open world section. You get access to nearly all weapons super early on, encounter strong enemies and everything. There is just nowhere to go from here. Ever heard of pacing? No, we need to give gamurz that rocket launcher immediately or they will become bored.
2. Traversal is a pain. You can run (lulz at those fake speedlines btw), but that takes forever to get anywhere new. However vehicles are even worse. They get stuck on geometry the whole fucking time. Try maneuvering the tank (which btw, you of course already get in the first open world section) without getting stuck every 5 meters. The warthog doesn't get stuck as often, but instead just flips over like a dog wanting belly rubs.
3. Ammo is painfully limited, which I guess they had to do to achieve some sort of challenge. Given the large environments, long range weapons are super OP, basically you would only need the sniper. But alas, you can only carry 8 shots. Finding the "secret" ammo staches is similarly pointless, because when you get a nice weapon you can kill maybe 5 enemies with it before it runs out of ammo. Sure, you could keep it to find a refill somewhere random, but with only 2 weaponslots that's not really an option.
To also counter camping, even the most basic enemies have fucking pinpoint accuracy with the standard pistols over several hundred meters, what the hell?
Those design choices pretty much killed the game for me. I finished the first section and am already bored because I can't possibly see what exciting stuff could possibly await me.
