Do you guys still like the game? I have almost all cars, beside the ones from season events and some rare wheelspins. Credits are a non issue, so are skillpoints. I lost interest, to be honest, in the game. I cant really customise my cars, besides the vinyl system. The lack of body kits, spoilers and shit is shocking (like in need for speed). And the races are like, shit you have done this in forza horizon 3 and 4. What keeps you playing? The hunt for xp and fast travel bords? meh.

The Eliminator is fun every now and then
There are body kits, spoilers and shit in the game for specific cars that have them IRL. There's also learning how to tune your fave cars to make them competitive. It took me a while to get the hang of it, esp. the settings for the shocks, camber and the various ratios for them which requires a little math. They all affect handling (most noticeable in corners for road and street racing and handling and shock absorption for dirt and cross country racing. Fine tuning gear ratios makes a lot of difference as well.
Ultimately it's up to each person what they enjoy etc.
I love racing or just going bonkers with a maxed out Super/Hypercar on asphalt or taking a maxed out Hoonigan RS 200 Evo offroad, doing stunts or going across the map doing whatever.
I see. I can understand the appeal from online racing and all, but the whole you have to invite your friends over asecond external app and half the time this shit game disconnects someone is so stupid. They said they fixed it, but i remember this happening in Forza Horizon 3.
Anyway, maybe the game needs some cooking. Ill wait a bit and then we race humpheads!
Oh yeah, it definitely needs some cooking to get rid of the really annoying stuff like disconnects etc. They also need to overhaul the damn club/convoy/friend bullshit where there's currently two different apps for different parts of that, both of which should've been in a single app.. or better yet, a built-in function in the game itself without having to use microsoft's shoddy xbox apps. I don't know how all that works on consoles though. I'm 99% certain Microsoft required that Turn 10 used the current method just like previous FH games.

Is there any way to start an online race with, for example, class d non tuned?
I hate the randon class 'matchmaking' thing. I wanna race online with slow cars (VW GTi 82) without any tuning.

You can create custom races (click on existing races and create your own, setting it to whatever car/class you want and save). You'll need to create a convoy (ie. have friends join your convoy) to play those races.
And yeah, the random class/type matchmaking is a bit annoying. They could've at least let you choose what kind of race you want to play (road, street, dirt, cross country).

I haven't tried a custom one yet but I could be wrong.
Wouldn't driving to the 'type' you want and picking the custom event (I think thats what its called) create one of the type you want to modify?
Again I could be wrong as Ive only SEEN the option when starting a race never actually tried it. So just me speculating how it would work.

Is there any progression in this game or is it just a fun sandbox?
There is a story that actually takes some hours to complete. But its not like the NFS games that has cutscenes with robberies, cops, twists and whatnot. I mean that in a good way... no need for that in a pure racing game imo. And there is tons of content
I'd say while you can tune and grind money to get specific (usually not better) cars, it feels pointless when you just get one of the best cars in the game in the ingame mail or from a random loot box. Maybe if there's some expensive car you really want you can have that as a goal to motivate you to do events.
And why upgrade when every opponent in the race is just set to your exact same stats again?
Maybe tune a little to get more stability or acceleration but those are just sidegrades.
I think if you like collecting cars there's something there, but satisfying progression where you work your way up is not.
Not that it needs it, it's great to have more free open racing games like this too, but I personally prefer the old GT style of working my way up the cars and events, starting with cheap used street cars (which GTSport of course also didn't have... hopefully GT7 will be good)
makes it way more exciting when you get something better.
I literally can't get anything better than what I got on my first day playing.

I did the $1 gampass thing and got it to play with friend.
It's fun for what it is for me I prefer less arcady race games but it can be fun with wheel if you turn all the assists off.
But as I said earlier I got it for racing against him. And my go to racing games are rfactor, pcars2, automobilista and such. No story, no progression, just 'pick a track, a car, tune it, and race against people with same class of car'.
I myself do not like the story and trudge my way through it when I must to get back to the "Hey man what kinda race you wanna do?".
We did the same race 7 times last night because we liked the track and cars (sort of like in pcars or rfactor our go to is laguna seca with the Caterham 7 cars. We love that race)
But I can see how some people that prefer the story mode NFS/arcade racer story type of progression would find it lacking. I find it the opposite and overly intrusive

There is an image of the Supreme Leader imposed on top of a KFC logo, too, taking up the role of Colonel Sanders, and a Pirelli logo with Pyongyang on it – the capital of the country.
The next time they tried to play the critically-acclaimed racing game, the following message appeared: “Your gamertag has been banned from this feature,” with a note that stated their unbanned date would be 12/31/9999.
found the problem with the gfx errors i got. finally came around to play some more today and searched why the cockpit view was so fucking bright all the time...
well somehow resolution scaling was active (set to super-duper-quality blabla). turning it off fixed the brightness and the blackbars
Whatever server I'm on is quite underpopulated. I guess players are simply spread too thin. I've also seen players (and traffic) suddenly disappear in front of my eyes even though they were driving/doing stuff. It might be that they've got some load balancing stuff that move players around (in fact, I may be the one being moved to a different server).
