Im surprised I don't have this yet given the fact I normally get all the big releases but even after the 8/10 review scores it still looks so unappealing. The combat looks boring and there's something else that bothers me that I cant put my finger on.
The gameplay seems similar to Scarlet Nexus in the way that you have my multiple characters but you only control one and call others into battle with an assigned control function. Is that right?
I might just wait for a sale or I heard it might end up on Game Pass ...
Gotta admit I'm shocked too (but I agree with you )
Haha I caved and ordered the PS5 version
I pulled a headshot, was weak and sadly bought it After all the praise here I had to! It's good.
everything seems great except for the gameplay, shooting is the most boring and generic shit which ruins the rest. what a shame
gameplay is actually good, dunno who said here it's a bit similar to final fantasy 7 remake gameplay and I agree it is similar in a way. Not as good (no items) but similar way as handling the team.
no its not good, its as generic as it can be. who gives two fucks about how final fantasy 7 remake gameplay is, if its like this one then its shit too.
didnt played long, was actually enjoying it then once it throws you into the combat then it was a big turn off. right mouse click locks you into a target then move mindlessly white locked to target and pew pew turn brain off. shoot without locking then it takes twice as long even though you seem to hit everything. just bad.
combat in avengers was better couse you had melee there, here it seems you only have the dual pistols.

I think I see your mistake. Must be hella confusing with a mouse and keyboard. It's a beat'em all after all... I'm playing it with a Dualsense, it even supports haptic feedback makes reloading more realistic/easier.
Ironically I think combat is a lot better than Avengers, which is generic as fuck. Did you play it long enough to actually HAVE to use all your group to kill bosses? Hopefully you play it till the prologue at least, which was a bit boring, but then it starts getting good.
Why would it be confusing with a m/kb ? You're doing every single possible thing better than with a pad. Reacting to enemies better, tracking them better, aiming better. Not a single thing you can do better with a pad
My rec is to go in the difficulty menu, when you hit escape and tweak the difficulty sliders to your liking. Increase the damage you deal to enemies if you feel it takes too long currently.
On my mouse I only have 2 buttons, on my gamepad I have 8 of them I can access easily.
Also on my gamepad I can move 360° easily with a joystick, on a keyboard it's quite complicated with ZQSD.. Try to play Mario 64 on a keyboard and then tell me how much better a keyboard always is ?
are you actually trying to say a pad is better because it has MORE buttons than a m/kb ? Why would you move 360 with the keys when you have mouse camera ? Even if you'd move with wsad, what is hard about it ?
Im not gonna play derpio 64 as its not at the ready on pc, but have a look at a newer 3rd person platfom, Hat in Time. Speed runned. With m/kb. You know why ? Because every possible action is better on m/kb
Do you know that the world record for classic Mario was done on a keyboard ? You know why ? Because functionally, a keyboard is better than a pad for 2d platformers. You have 3 fingers over the arrow keys at all times that you can press at the same time. On a dpad, you use the thumb for all 4 keys. So, contrary to the most widely held belief, keyboard only is better than a controller for platformers
I wasn't trying to start a debate, because this debate is never ending. We know in this forum some people prefer gamepad, some others mouse keyboard.
It seemed to me the game was unplayable to StEFaN7 because he used mouse keyboard and had issues pressing buttons (not my words, his words). I might be wrong, but we will never know until he actually uses a gamepad. Until then, debate is over
If you care about my opinion : I myself prefer mouse + keyboard only in FPS (and RTS obviously), because I need mouse for aiming.
And I don't need to aim in this game since it has auto aiming so I don't need a mouse.
For other games (non FPS/RTS), I don't see the point of using a mouse + keyboard (specially when some games even support haptic feedback now).
I'll admit I didn't try a keyboard with this game, but I did try mouse + keyboard with beat'em all or Tomb Raider, and I prefer to play these with a gamepad. If you think it's dumb, so be it, as long as I enjoy it
There's nothing wrong with personal preference, we all have them. But usually these discussion come from a place of being accustomed more with pads from childhood and due to that some lack of more indepth understanding of how mouse/keyboard actually works and what it can do.
For stefan, as ive said, tweak the difficulty to do more damage so fights dont take that long and wait a bit to unlock some powers for you and your team.

Can you send a picture of your mouse? Is it from 1993? It must be the same mouse the FROM Software developers use because no mouse buttons other than left and right click are ever recognized when I try remapping controls in their games.
Meanwhile, for the last 10 years or so, this has been pretty much the standard amount of buttons usable for gaming on any mid-range ($40-70) mouse...

Lol i just finished doom eternal dlcs on ultra violence, i dont have issues pressing buttons. I said the game is too easy as you ONLY need like 2 buttons, and even those its boring.
will mess with difficulty but i doubt it will be better, changing difficulty in games like assassins creed dosent fix the combat.
Well we certainly all have different preferences in the games we play. This one isn't mechanically deep or challenging, but I thouroughly enjoy it for its world design, its characters and its soundtrack. You can just tell the studio put their heart into it.
It's a very fun romp, not a Dark Souls-esque trial by fire. And that's all I wanted from it.
The graphics in this game are mind blowing, particularly the characters and material quality. Im usually never one to appreciate a game very strongly outside of gameplay, but this fucking game is different - the script, the voice acting, the characters, the atmosphere - they're just at the highest peak. The voice acting is so spectacular and sublime, delivered so incredibly well that it just flores you. They're canadian professional actors, who do movies and series, but still. Can't remember the last time i've been this pleasantly surprised
This game is flarking great.
The graphics are mind blowing, game is paced super fun. Love the adventures to many different places with ship resting inbetween. One of best single player games recently !

Took my sweet time, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters.
The voice acting was amazing and the interactions between them was really well done.
This was basically my first touch with Marvel as I'm generally not a fan of superhero stories, but maybe I'll give the two movies a try now.
I think I can safely say that this is my GOTY (at least from what I've played this year), decided to pick it up purely because I liked what I saw during the E3 presentation and it was the right decision in the end.
