A ton of fourkay cutscenes? Voiced dialogue for 12+ languages? Or just lazyness?
Genuine question, do most games even have any sort of file packaging/compression these days?

Wouldn't surprise me the least if it's used as promoting it. Don't underestimate how many stupid and clueless people there are who think it's some sort of assessment of how good something is, especially kids.
I have no doubt they could shrink it 50%, but they don't want to because then the size is less than some (most) other AAA games and the size sensation is lost
Hey everyone! We wanted to give you an update on the final size of the PC version of the game, which will not be 150 GB. The team is in the last stages of optimizing the final game and we can confirm the file size will be approximately 80 GB at launch.
Sizes this large usually have a multitude of reasons:
- uncompressed video/audio
- storing videos with each language as a separate file instead of overlaying the audio
- storing assets multiple times due to slow-ass HDDs on last-gen consoles, this enables them to load them faster
- no respect for trimming unused data, be it either leftover assets or DLC that you don't own
So in general it usually boils down to: We don't fucking care
But yeah, 80 GB sounds more reasonable. Still large, but depending how many unique (high-res?) textures there are, it's not impossible.

yeah, this is at the very top, graphically. The image looks incredibly crisp and sharp as well. Quite a contrast from Far Cry 6 which is one of the softest looking games ive ever played. Also, you dont really see very often these kind of crazy and coloured enviroments in such a big budget production. Maybe the nuDeus Ex guys will surprise us with this one.
Could be straight casual fun. Not gonna pay more then 20 euro's for it though.
Don't worry, if you wont pay 60$ for AAA games you actually enjoy, soon enough they are not gonna make 60$ games , they are just gonna do AA or A games and ask 20$.
Curious if people will be happier then, but that is just my opinion, i may be wrong.

they wont make 60$ games anymoer ... in nextgen the their true call was 70$/80€ games
60 euro's is not needed to cover costs. It's for marketing and >50% profits. I don't blame the big companies for this though, they have to make as much profit as possible for shareholders.
I'm just not willing to pay that much for a 3th person platformer action game. It's not my genre, but sometimes it hits the spot for me (soulreaver series, jedi falen order), but more often i'm bored with it after an hour or 2. So that's not worth the 60 euro's.
I will get this game at some point just because I like the characters and think it might have a fun story but with the way games go on sale so fast after release I cannot justify paying full price for any game now. This game will probably be $40 or less by the Xmas sales, you might even see that price during the Black Friday sales in a month.

The combat on consoles is lock-on auto shit, like they had in the 90's on consoles. We can use free aim on PC with m\kb and the game seems to have a million difficulty settings to tailor very specifically, much more than other games. Hopefully we can get something ok out of it that way.
Pey, the pc gamer review claims quite a lot of crashes. How did the game went for you ? PC gamer says 3 crashes in one hour
They must have used the build prior to one released late thursday. Prior to that one ot did crash a lot, but as you can see in my videos some last over an hour or around 40 minutes and had no crashes.
Definitely looks good graphics-wise but the gameplay... Well had to try it to judge if it's better than in videos.
