As I understand, not the whole game is retextured yet? or is it done?
I usually prefer games in their original form but this looks great. It is so faithful!

Click the link and you'll see what's missing, lol. Basically, all environments are done, but they haven't done objects yet (characters, weapons, etc).

But it's in a very good state to play as what's left is not nearly as important. I mean Leon is Leon. He looks good for a 2005 model.

Sorry for necro. But I wanted to replay this game and was wondering what the best version is at this point. I heard it might actually be the Wii-Version when emulated through Dolphin?

Steam release with https://www.re4hd.com/

Note Albert just finished updating the entire main game, but I guess he won't release it until he finishes the side-missions and who knows if that will be in 2 months or 12, so I cannot tell you "it's right around the corner".. that's unknown.

So it's wrong to depict men as (sometimes) being sexist now, or what is the line of thought (if there is one).. Men are superior beings that never does anything wrong, especially when it comes to speaking to the opposite sex? That's..."based". Laughing

The RE4VR port is amazing, been playing it for 2 hours and I'm hooked. Loved the original but this is just on another level. You feel like you are in the game, and it's amazing this thing can run natively on the Q2.

It's totally worth it for Alyx and RE4.

Be sure to check out these games also:

Lone Echo 1 & 2
Boneworks
SkyrimVR with wabbajack mods
Fallout 4 VR with wabbajack mods
Walking Dead Saints and Sinners
Stormlands
Medal of Honor Above and Beyond
Sniper Elite VR
Asgard's Wrath
Surv1v3
Vertigo Remastered
Blair Witch VR

Loads of more great games to check out.

But don't play Alyx first!!!

It will ruin all the other games. Most of the games only builds on the "you are in VR" logic. Everything will just clip through your hand etc...

In Alyx you can actually interact with almost everything.

The download is around 36 gigs for the new v1.0 HD textures which is a lot bigger than I was thinking so I will wait a bit just to see if they end up doing hotfixes.

That's not even an hour to download so who cares, and I'm only on 100 Mbps because internet is generally pretty shit here in Germany in most places outside of the bigger cities (and even those still have blind spots sigh).

Quest 2 version looks much better than the original though, but it probably doesn't look as good as this modded version.

It does look pretty nice. I can never go back to playing this with mouse though. RE (or basically any horror game) should always be experienced in VR, imo.

For what it's worth, the quality of the HD Project definitely is muy bonita, with the new textures/models that are organic and never feel out of place. The included re4_tweaks tool is vital as well, adding mouse turning, the option to set a FOV higher than the silly default one and many other fixes. The original shaders are obviously rudimentary, but some forced ambient lighting or qUINT can help to make the atmosphere more visceral(tm)

I actually never got around to finishing the game because the original port was utterly embarrassing and the lazy re-release still couldn't cut it. Thankfully, despite the consolish limitations, derp time events and whatnot the game hasn't lost its fun factor and finally, it is fully playable now. I'll definitely revisit it when in 2032 I'll build myself a VR-ready rig, the game's core mechanics look like they're a perfect fit for it.

it's quite sad that the VR version switches to 2d when: cutscene and during quicktime events. Also 3rd person for climbing ladders. Sad

isn't the VR version a quest exclusive and not PCVR? if you have a quest you can Yarr the apk if you enable developer mode on your headset.
