Same, no MP support I have no reason to get it. Games like this (well most games I get actually, only the rare sim game like cities skylines do I buy even though its SP) are for the 'with friends' part.

Pitiful. Nobody gives a shit about PVP in Diablo 2 (though you could just limited view to 16:9 once you're in PVP) and in PVE just restrict spell range to 16:9.
I stopped playing Overwatch because of this 16:9 hard-on.
Somehow all other games can handle people playing on 69:9 with 10 monitors. Even competitive shooters.
Nah it's a long known engine limitation, and "just restricting spell range" doesn't work either as projectiles can travel far off screen. Enemy AI starts reacting in a certain range, and with too wide screens you can trivialize gameplay. No D2 mods I know of ever managed to fix that, so it's a really deep engine thing, and they really didn't want to change anything in the engine to not upset the fanbase.
Just imagine the flip side, if they increased the enemy AI activation range, people with smaller screens would be constantly rushed by enemies, or even worse, getting shot by enemies they can't see, making the game harder for them.
Anyways, I'm sure there will be border-removal hacks on release, the widescreen gaming community is pretty crafty.

It's not a matter of getting it to run, but supporting it. If you write "runs on Win7" on your box/launcher app, then you need to have support people troubleshooting customer complains for this or that reason. And don't forget that Win7 is officially discontinued system.
...and no i'm not saying this is good (didn't try) i don't particularly like Grim Dawn tbh. might give it a shot in case i get the urge to play GD style Diablo 2 at some point..

It is. A LOT of work & tickets/specific troubleshooting support man hours for 6-7% of market share in windows OS. vs the 93-94% of the later OS's it can run on.
Not to defend the game, but saying a game doesn't support a 13 year old OS is a bit being picky for the sake of finding another complaint.

And you expect 99% of gamers to know how to do that 2 dll file thing. And not mess it up, and not need to fuss on forums 'I broke my game trying to do the shity fix they included expecting me to edit windows files as the official way". [It's not windows files, but they dont know...thats the problem] Then bugging support?
You ever try to talk the average gamer through how to edit even a simple .ini file or even how to find it?
Ive wasted TONS of hours total trying to help sons friends change like a 0 to a 1 in an ini for a game setting/fps tweak, or something along those lines (some have shit machines).
