The Serpent

The twisting, real-life story of Charles Sobhraj, a murderer, thief and seductive master of disguise, who was a hidden darkness in the mid-70's on Asia's hippie trail.

It can be a hard watch at times for the squeemish.
It's also a serie that requires a lot of focus, since the narration freely goes from '75 ("present"), to earlier and futures times at a whim.

The two main actors, totally unknown to me before, give a STELLAR performance. Most supporting caracters are insanely good too.
Photography and directioral efforts are grade A across the board.

I didn't quite like the acting of the main Dutch dude and his Belgian counterpart that much. As my Main Comrade Diatlov could say about their performance: Not great, not terrible.

Only 8 eps. Not a "must watch", but worth it.

7.9/10. Would recommend.
