its free for current owners, has 2 new additional campaigns and you can buy it for1$ on indiegala
Looks a bit too bright, doesn't it? Otherwise, seems like a nice update.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

they have no shame ... i bet there is better looking mod out there getting DMCAd right now
got it for like 3 euro, it's available really cheap on many sites, greemangaming etc etc. wouldnt pay what they're asking on steam (i rarely buy directly from steam since it's always more expensive).
it's nightdive who's done the update, so it's on the KEX engine now (it's more like an overlay than a new engine)... it's also not just higher res textures, all models are recreated (same dude who does the new SS2 models, a swedish guy).. + obviously better support for modern graphics settings..
Been playing through this a bit. That well honed gameplay is as timeless as ever. Pretty mind boggling how much blueprint is in here for all of gaming - you can see how they were putting a fully 3d engine to use here in the levels. When you look at the addons as well, you can even see some early more advanced scripting that apeared later in Half Life.
Bunny hopping, strafe jumping, rocket jump - all invented here. Then you factor the mods and you have the invention of Capture the Flag. You have Team Fortress. And you also have the very first implementation of the concept of headshot in the FPS genre, with the sniper in Team Fortress. A patch implemented locational damage for the sniper in the head, torso and legs in january 1997.
I've just finished the 2 last campaigns, the "semi-official ones?", and i've noticed that when you're in their HUB (Specially the last one) there's some lagging in mouse movement and F5 saving takes more time (Gaming PC and SSD, shouldn't be a prob) , but anything outside of it runs great.
Other than that, glad to have a better copy than GOG's..But will keep GOG's one for nostalgia..

Is this thread for another new Quake game next year or for the remastered version we got earlier this year?
Technically it's for the unannounced game that (supposedly) will come out sometime in the future, but since we don't have a proper Quake 1 thread we just ended up using this one for the revamped version as well.
It's actually a decent attempt as far as remustards go, I've been replaying it and although the vanilla campaign doesn't match Arcane Dimensions's quality, it's still good timeless fun. Back when consoles hadn't tainted our hobby yet.
I got the remaster and yeah it’s pretty good!
Free on Game Pass as well if I recall.
Nostalgia is strong with this one for sure.
I wish Quake 2 had the same treatment but a new Quake is most welcome
