That time the CPU player had 1 factory.
I spied he. And he builded 1 ship being 2 round, if he would be got minus credit, i should say nothing, but he grew with every bought.
That was a cheat.

THEY DONT CHEAT UNLESS ITS ABOVE INTELLIGEN YOU FUCKING MORON!!!! Twisted Evil
lol =D Seriously, maby learn the game in depth before trying to figure out how pro's (the ai) plays it.
Remember the kids that got a headshot every single shot on you in CS, how you tought they were cheating, when it was just "skill"? Same thing.

If you could just LISTEN.......
The AI manages the taxes, spending, and approval for every single turn, he sells ships if he needs money, LEASES ships if he needs them asap, etc etc.

EXAMPLE. The AI could have his spending set on 0%, that means that every single tax gets straight into his pocket, and it doesnt matter if he only has 1 planet, i nearly won on a large map with just 1 good planet.. You just gotta know how to play.

Lets say he has spending on 0%, earning a shitload of money.
How to get ships if no money is going to the factories?
Because he BUYS them, probably a lease since he's scared about dying, and need protection NOW.

3 ships being leased for a monthly pay = 3 ships built in 3 turns, no matter how fuckin big they are.

I couldn't post on the galciv2.com forums since they refuse to send me the confirmation e-mail...
Nevertheless there seems to be some fanboys here too who can answer my questions. Wink

1.
On one of my starbases I have one Mining Barracks (+2) and one Mining Center
(+3). Is it possible to upgrade the Barracks into another Center? I couldn't
find an option to either remove, change or otherwise modify already
installed starbase modules...

2.
I'm thinking about removing the galactic resources via modding. Any tips on
how to do that?

3.
The colonize rush at the start of each game is getting old, so I want to make colonizing a new planet hideously expensive. That way the available planets won't be colonized within 20 turns. Would increasing the price of the colonization module by say 5000% make the AI reluctant to build colony ships? If, so how do I change the price?

4.
Is Morale the same thing as Approval?
The reason I ask is that some regions on planets have "Approval bonus". Does
that mean I get that bonus if I construct a building there that raises Morale,
like an Entertainment complex?

Edit:
Oh, and..

5. After having spend the last hours spamming out about a hundred constructors (no joke) in order to build starbases and starbase modules I have realized the game would be better off without them (the starbases that is). If anyone could tell me how to mod them out completely I'd be very grateful.
As a compensation for the loss of economy stations I could maybe make base trade higher? So how would I do that?

You fucking idiot, if anyone buy one middle class ship, pay it minimum 1600-2000 credit.
No player who possess 1 planet and 1 factory and 1x billion people, can get more or less 2000 credit without selling and without marketing during 1 round.
No alliances got him, he no sold anything, and he possess just 1900 credit, but 6 round later he got 3 middleclass ship and 2400 credit.
I'm won, the CPU lost afterwards and the AI no has better then me.
But i tell, that was no fair game.

It's a good game, just finished a gigantic map, took way to many hours :/. A few more patches that fixes the memory leaks and random CTD's would be rather nice thou.

Thanks... instead of deleting those, you should have moved them into a new thread in the Technical forum. If it hadn't been for that post telling us to back up the galciv2.exe before applying the latest patch and then moving it back, I would have sat here with the game asking me for a serial, which I don't have, and would have been pretty pissed.

Great job, really... Rolling Eyes

Yeah, that post also helped me. It's a shame that people have made the effort to make detailed posts to help other users, only for them to be deleted. Who cares which thread it's in, it's all relevent. Oh well...

I see, but what if the patch changes something worthy in the .exe? If it's important, using an older version of it might cause odd game behaviour. Sad

That was answered in one of the posts our super "schmoderator" deleted. Rolling Eyes Apparently, most of the changes were made in other files, not in the .exe itself.

Cant stop playing this game......

the AI is AWSOME..... you actually feel like your playing against real people...

Just had a game where there were basically 2 superpowers in the world (Me and another race) .. and the other race had like 10x bigger millitary than me.. but my diplomacy .... technology.. and economy was bigger than theirs (and my population) ....

Neways me and the other superpower ended up having a huge war....... like fucking epic ..... then the other smaller races were telling me " these guys must be stopped" and they started giving me resources etc etc to combat the other power.....

In the end i actually ended up getting raped.... but i fully went down in style lol Very Happy

If you like this kind of game, and don't mind a slow start it's a 9. Although it eats time like a motherfucker.

I really don't get the popularity of this "game".

You research new technology endlessly and you barely see any results! The makers of this "game" have no clue what fun is.

You can play for hours and not really see any progress. Sure you might be able to make "advanced" versions of the same buildings or make a few different ships (with minor variations) but you really don't see your civiliization advancing like in Civ4.

I see the potential for a game but it is really badly designed.

Even in an old game like Xcom you see the results of your research. You feel like something is gained.

As far as elements of the game such as research goes I agree.

However, as to the rest, the popularity is well deserved. The AI is challenging and more importantly - realistic. It feels natural. Of course I'm also convinced that it isn't, but it doesn't bother me because it's done so well. This is rare. Civ boasts some stupid AI and much less convincing opponents.

While your right that very little changes per se, I never lose that 'one more turn' factor because of it.

Look at the race relations bit. Off the top of my head it could be they are being paid off to attack you (by a nefarious opponent Very Happy) or that your borders are getting to close for comfort.
