Coz they are re-hashing every game now, as they have run out of ideas for new ones
No one's run out of ideas, games just cost a lot of money to make now and no one wants to put the money into making something new and shiny that they won't get a return on investment from.
This game's already been done, they're just after easy money. It's all the AAA companies do anymore, rehash, remake and reboot.
This is the new normal, just remake games from 2 console generations prior hoping people will buy them again either out of nostalgia or because they heard good things about the prior version and want to see what all the hype was about.
Yep clearly making a lot of money, publishers dont even have to make games anymore, just remake the same ones and dump a COD reskinned map pack as a new $100 title every once a while.
People've been asking for a new Dead Space game pretty consistently now, they were bound to give something out.. and with a remaster, they make pretty sure they can't really fuck the formula up gameplay-wise
R5 5600X - 3070FE - 16GB DDR4 3600 - Asus B550 TUF Gaming Plus - BeQuiet Straight Power 11 750W - Pure Base 500DX
Given the original still looks fine, a complete reimagining would be welcome. But then again they could just have named it Dead Space 4, or just something stupid shit without a number like they always do, DS: The quest for more money.

EA execs: "we're really outta ideas what do we do?"
"Horror remake cuz capcom did it and it worked"
"But our horror game isn't that ol-"
"REMAKE"
October 14, 2008
13 years, old enough
Also - this remake will function as a reboot so - I guess the success of it will mean a sequel or not.
I'm excited for the remake, for now, hoping it'll be as good as the RE2Remake or RE3Remake.
Love and passion, not greed, and it'll be all good.
When I think of a game that holds up and doesn't need a remaster, Dead Space is the first thing that comes to mind. I installed it a couple of weeks ago, trow some reshade on it, and it looks gorgeous. The simple gameplay is awesome, and the atmosphere is unmatched. Ea is going to poo poo on Glen Schofield vision. I was banging my head trying to figure out what the catch is * they said no microtransactions* Oh yeah we have to pay for this duh. I mean we don't have to, but still.
Nah, it all looks pretty because of all the darkness. Just make it all pink, with sparkling guns and rainbow monsters and purple lights all around. The glorious modern look of FarCry: ND or Rage 2! 11/10 Remaster !!

Well luckily it's not a remaster, but a remake/reboot.
What i see in this whole thread is people bashing it - without actually seeing what the game might look like.
Yeah I get it, it's EA, Evil, etc.
But, looking at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for example, it for one is going to be sceptic but willing to be enthusiastic when actual gameplay is being shown and it's clear it's a project that's made with passion, if not i will bash it as hard as everyone else, but bashing it before hand - nah.
