DSP still going strong (it says I have 162 hours on my latest run), but just discovered Exanima. Why did I learn about this game just now? It's amazing. And for £11 it's great value. The story mode is pretty good dark fantasy dungeon crawl, and the arena mode is a kick-ass little gladiator tournament campaign.

And the euphoria-like combat animation system they put together works incredibly well. Ridiculously awkward at the start but I got used to it pretty fast. This is basically the game I wanted to have ever since I first saw the early demo-videos of the euphoria animation engine.

KUNAI - nice little metroidvania, not too hard which is fine with me being older and less dexterous

UFO2 Extrateresstrials 2 - well was playing but continous CTD in missions and shitty GUI made me postpone this garbage

Ni No Kuni Wrath of...

Completed Yakuza 3, it was a lot rougher on the edges than the others I played before, but it wasn't thàt bad either.

So started on Yakuza 4. Still glad to see it jumps forward a decade again, quality-wise Laughing

Akiyama sure is a strange fella. They make him appear all altruistic and philanthropic, but when a single mother with her child comes by for a loan, he gives her the task to find a job in 3 hours first. When she comes back saying she couldn't find anything, he replies "well, have you tried the red light district?" LOL Laughing

Back to American Truck Simulator, and SpinTires, with friends.
Forgot how much fun 6-7 hour sessions of convoying difficult loads around a map, or fighting mud/snow to not get stuck (to get stuck anyway and spend 15 minutes to get out) with friends was.

I've become so lame during the latter period of this pandemic shit. I rarely play PC games whatsoever, instead playing some mobile games (yes, I said/wrote it). I play AFK Arena, Clash Royale, Egg inc., Clash of Clans and a bunch of puzzle games (logic puzzles and word puzzles) to keep my brain working properly. Oh, and Solitaire.. great game for the loo. Razz

PC Games I have installed: Forza Horizon 4 which has lost all it's allure after 1.5 years of driving on that map (and I'm disappointed in the FH5 reveal), Terminator: Resistance (thought I'd do a second playthrough but I've spent less than an hour since I installed it ~2 months ago) and Subnautica: Below Zero which I haven't started yet.

Summer heat, real life and the current situation with the pandemic even if Sweden isn't the most strict with the various precautions.

Driver updates and mostly reading and doing little else on these boards for a while now.

Not much for newer games either, started doing this thing waiting on patches and picking up games during discounts or sales while waiting and working through the backlog. Very Happy

So yeah.

Necromunda.
Solid shooter with a ton of jank, definitively has Warhammer feel and also feels like Eye Divine Cybermancy but it needed a bit more development time and polish. Short but fun though also as mentioned buggy and janky. Smile

Sekuna of Rice and Ruin.
Expected a JRPG with lite sim elements got a farming simulator with lighter JRPG elements.
Solid game though the combat starts slow and enemies are prone to respawning in longer going waves as the game goes on with ability spam and hitpoint padding especially on bosses.
Farming element is also incredibly in-depth so raising your stats requires a lot of effort and work even using guides or FAQs for a few tips on some ideal ways to get through it.
Not bad though, definitively enjoyable if one gets through the sim aspect of the game.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Wrath of the Irish...err Druids.
It's Assassin's Creed Valhalla with more busywork and padding in a new region, visually incredible but still the same gameplay shortcomings and still really buggy both PC and console with PC also having stability issues.

Watch_Dogs Legion.
Paused awaiting even more patches, improved a lot but yeah it needs more work still and the DLC are kinda wrapping up so at worst this might get dropped because playability and even more so actually enjoying and having fun is kinda lacking here.

Shiren the Wanderer.
Fifth game in a series Tower of Fate it's a rogue game and they do make you work for it retaining at best some of the gear and having to go through a number of dungeons in a row expect a ton of failed runs and then the real part of the game with the side dungeons and a little epilogue part as well.
Not bad though but I was expecting to keep levels and a few more things for runs as it is even item loss is a very real risk breaking or just losing gear that has been upgraded and improved and having to start all over again, tough but somehow also kinda fun.
(Not the toughest rouge inspired game but not as lite as some of the recent entries either.)

Earth Defense World World of Brothers
Voxel type spin-off after the Iron Rain spin-off with more humor and a lighter tone, still just a teaser before EDF6 but not bad though a lot of the characters end up being put aside since they lack meaningful abilities or most of all mobility which ends up hampering on of the main mechanics into being almost a gimmick and a RNG for when you find more characters to level up and improve those you have.
Feels a bit easier too compared to the other games but you still need a good arsenal of weird and strange and occasionally really effective weapons to win against the aliens.

As for actually playing through I do have to finish up Yakuza 3 at some point.
Greedfall also got updated and apparently had a DLC.
A whole bunch of Atelier games.
Nioh 2 now that it's gotten patched up well as it's going to get.

Various smaller studio or indie shooters despite going into old man aging now at 30+ and having no reflexes and terrible reaction times compared to earlier. Razz

In-between training and surviving the summer heat wave. Very Happy

EDIT: Also Cyberpunk 2077 at some future point if it gets patched up, won't be quite as intended or expected but eh I managed Gothic 3 I can manage this. Ha ha.

I wish I knew how much grind would be in this game Crying or Very sad The story is pretty good but boy it's the grindiest jrpg I've played and I played a lot of them. Also everyone is prising it but it has a lot of shitty or lazly done mechanics.

Borderlands 3
Finishing the last two DLC and getting rid of it from my SSD.

Iconoclast
Having blast with this one, mostly the characters and story. Has a lot of charm this one and it's one of easier metroidvanias out there so it's a plus for me.

Also finishing Scarlet Nexus, last dungeon now, level design is cheap as fuck and the story is kinda forgettable too, but the combat is really good, especially after you have all the characters and the skills to activate 4 SAS at the same time, its fun as fuck.

Didnt know Ys 9 is coming out today already, holy shit, I ll have to postpone my FF14 playthrough again, hopefully I ll make it in time for Endwalker.

Also pwning some n00bz in Guilty Gear Strive online on PS5 currently, so glad I got a decent arcade stick months ago Very Happy
Soon I will go up a rank and most likely gonna be taking it up the ass real hard from then on.

The 3-6% chance of catching a familiar with side quests that requires particular familiars and the mechanic where lower level mobs run away from you, usually faster than you makes it a bit of a chore. I don't overflow with money and buying a couple of sweets for familiars, new weapons and armor drains it fast. I'm lvl 37 in Hamlet, a single weapon costs >2000, a single fight gives around 150 gold, so around 15 fights for a single weapon with running away mobs... I would say it's pretty grindy.
Not to mention leveling up tiered up familiars

I usually brute force through these games. There are complicated ways of tqking the lengthy route and getting the perfect team etc, but then there is the way of just taking those you find good enoufh and just forcing through. Usually how i do it. Works in most games Laughing

Been playing Cyanide's Game of Thrones RPG, it's surprising how such a subpar title in terms of production values, core gameplay à la DA:O - gimped edition and consolish visuals/UI can be so genuinely engaging when it comes to its storytelling and characters. It has little to do with the show so thankfully there was no d̶e̶j̶a̶ ̶v̶u PTSD for me, the protagonists Alester and Mors are both fascinating as well and so are their intertwining stories.

Absolutely, it was such a well written game and so much better than I expected, it truly fit well into the whole world.

I'm close to finishing No More Heroes, I didn't play it when it came out, because I didn't own a Wii.

It's fun, albeit somewhat repetitive.

It will definitely take some time before I decide to play the second one Razz

Also I still have to finish SMT III, so I've got the next week or so covered.
