I just watched that first video.
Is it just me or does it feel like one of those videos a 16 year old makes in windows media creator using WoW cutscene/cinematic footage set to the most '16yo' edge music he could find?
All its missing is the intro of a black background and that skinny puppy font in green of his guild name.

To be fair though I'm definitely not the target audience for something like this as neither couch-op nor brainlessly hack 'n slashing around are my cup of tea
LOL me either. I'm not its target audience at all.
I dont even like mindless hack and slash "Getting big numbers and crits is all that matters" in my tabletop D&D. Diablo it's fine...its all its for. To do it to D&D is ignoring the depth and story possibility D&D is for.
I am the OLD school D&D tabletop player, where your character and persona of them is more important than how well you can stat stack your numbers on your sheet in front of you. As I tell my players "Make a character..not just a character sheet".
So hack and slash "My character bro is bad ass look at those stats! everything I did was for optimising his dice rolls" is the wrong way to make a character for my game. You put all the energy into min/maxing him and nothing else? I will make sure he runs into a lot of situations that work off whatever you min'd...

Haha, judging from the Gen Z-like tone of the company's Twitter account that doesn't sound too far off from reality

From "Polygon" Review : Dark Alliance isn’t the best the action-adventure genre has to offer, but it still manages to be a great time with friends and even by myself when I simply wanted to be in the world of The Forgotten Realms. It doesn’t have the depth of Baldur’s Gate or Icewind Dale, or even the Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance games, in terms of narrative presentation, but it was enjoyable all the same. Despite all of the game’s flaws, I am elated at the thought of playing with my group of friends. The one thing Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is capable of providing, buried deep beneath its technical issues, is a solid multiplayer experience.
