Honestly, anyone who played the original L4D, single player AI was about as fucking useless as you could get so who fucking cares. Usually I refuse to touch an online only game but in this case, there is no reason to have online only.
Unless it'll fuck with mods, in which case, I still don't care because I never modded the others, however I can certainly see others being pissed about that and I'll agree, fuck that.
Played a few rounds of the beta. I liked what I saw, but since they announced there will be no campaign versus mode I doubt I will buy it. Solo campaign will get boring pretty fast and campaign versus was what kept me coming back to L4D2 for years. Without that, this game is DOA.

Likewise, the Versus campaign mode was practically the only reason I enjoyed my time with L4D2. Didn't care much for the standard stuff, but the art of sneakily studying the layouts and trolling the same players in multiple creative ways was absolutely hilarious.
same here, played L4D 1&2 for a loong time but most of it was versus. the standard mode is a lot of fun at first but it gets old too fast. could maybe be enhanced by more randomization in the levels, is that a thing here? and the AI director?
mastering the different special infected, making the craziest longest one-shot jumps with the hunter and stuff like that
definitely what kept us going the longest
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
I've almost never played versus. Versus was fun for maybe 5 rounds. The best thing was to complete all campaigns first on hard, then realism. And then all fucking survival maps till we had gold, 10 min.
That was always damn wild.
Is there a super hard mode for the campains again?
The Nigtmare campaign is super-hard by default. In fact, since Alpha they've tripled the amount of special infected spawns and they do even more damage. it is fairly hard
This is clearly not worth 60 euro by any stretch of the imagination:
- the graphics are dated
- the animations are unfinished and often laggy
- the bots are terrible
- the dismemberment is lackluster (Killing Floor 2 mops the floor with it in this regard)
- lag seems to be an issue
- the zombies can hit you without actual contact
- you can't change fire modes
- some of the upgrades don't come with visual changes to the guns
- headshot damage is no different than body shots
I liked:
+ the system of cards
+ the shooting is alright
+ the map do seem to get better as you progress through the campaign
+ the difficulty seems well tuned
Remember when people treaded a beta as a fucking beta and send the devs constructive criticism instead of acting like it's a finished product? Literally your entire list is something that can easily be tuned and fixed by creating a thread about it on their forum or sending it directly to them lol.
Early Access turned a lot of gamers into fucking morons lol

Yeah...but I wonder if devs actually cares nowadays - there are exceptions, but sometimes it feels like they just don't give a fuck.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

I mean, they were the ones that did evolve, should know what to expect going into this without them beind under Valve now lol, but still, beta means beta. People pre-ordering games/buying early access then complaining about how it's broken or buddy or unbalanced is delusional.
I had hopes until I realized at some point where I put it on my wishlist and ignored everything about it until today that they added WB as a publisher who are almost worse at monetization than EA and UBI put together, also to add to that they're doing online only with no dedicated servers (how else is WB going to control what goes on in the game so they can charge money for it).
I also didn't see that they added all that "ultimate edition" bullshit where maps/stories/characters are now behind a paywall. 60 bucks on release and you're not even getting the full storyline?!

yeah, the price is over the top...i liked the beta, it was very entertaining - but was it anything new compared to L4D? Well...it had some changes, but not enough to justify the high price.
If i can get it for 50% less or atleast 30% less i might concider buying it - but im not convinced.

You dont get that next level feeling that you might expect because its been so many years, but I guess it could be a great game. And AFAIK Left 4 dead 2 is still top 20 on steam. (never understood why tho..)

Don't get your panties in a bunch now, the game is not worth the emotional involvement. And no worries, I sent them the feedback. I'm sure they'll be able to turn it into a game worthy of the 60euro price tag in less than 2 months before release.

beta means beta
You are either extremely naive or quite a fanboy, beta hasn't meant beta for years in the majority of cases (especially high profile games). Beta is a marketing tool now, a time limited demo before release to try and boost sales more than anything else. If they were actually expecting to change major things based on open beta feedback, they wouldn't have had it 2 months before release.

They are 2 months away form a goddamn release. You dont present BETA near 2 month before final release you present a GODDAMN DEMO. Both beta and alpha come very early in development. They abuse the word "beta" to shrug off any criticism just in case.
"it's an alpha, relax"
"it's an beta, relax"
"it's fun with friends!"
Typical gaymer simping/ defense force for their favourite brand god.
Bingo. The term beta to modern developers is a catch all marketing gimmick (pre-order for access!!!) + immunity to all negative criticism regarding its state (unless it's positive, then you can laud all the praise you want on it!) If developers don't treat the term properly, why should the end user/customer?
