If it was called Dinosaur Safari, then sure, no story mode would probably be ok.. But being such a huge IP, it needs a storymode to draw in initial interest from the short of attention span.

To be fair (about story-mode again): I only played the storylines in the Tropico games, and enjoyed them a lot. So it depends on how they approach it, I guess.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
Oh wow. Something new. I was getting kinda tired of those 'first xx minutes' videos. Has been done by a billion youtubers, with dev interviews, and honestly didn't see the point of IGN doing it again a month later. On the one hand I'm good with them keeping things to themselves, but you can only do the same type of promotional video so many times until people get scared that might be all there is to it and start thinking they're scared to show anything else off other than the first 20-40 minutes.
Isla Nublar confirmed as the sandbox island. Without monetary restraints, but with tech limitations you unlock in the other islands.
Free Fallen Kingdom DLC to coincide with the movie release.
edit: replaced IGN link with youtube link, cause reasons.
Jurassic World Evolution will not support mods due to licensing and quality reasons
Quote:
Jurassic World Evolution releases next week and according to its developers, it will not support mods. Although Frontier Developments’ previous game, Planet Coaster, did support mods, this new Jurassic World game will not due to licensing and quality reasons.
As Frontier told Gamestar, Universal Studios has the rights of the game and they must follow its guidance. Moreover, it would have been very difficult for individual mods to achieve the level of detail and visual quality that both Frontier and Universal Studios wanted.
Although the game will not support mods, Frontier has gained access to a large number of assets to create a world that stays true to the look and feel of the movies, and it is focused on giving players the best possible Jurassic World Evolution experience.

Translation: Planet Coaster will not allow mods because otherwise new dinos and other trivial crap will not be easy to sell as DLC.
I always chuckle at the lengths publishers go to to hide their true reasons for doing things. Frontier has, sadly, become just another publisher looking for maximum profit at the expense of the player. Their previous 2 games already show these signs, and I absolutely guarantee that JW will be just the same.
And if there are those who doubt me, just check the usual pre-order bonuses already available for you - exclusive skins for vehicles. Why just skins? It's a model that worked well (and is fairly logical) for Elite Dangerous. In JW tho, I can pretty much guarantee that we'll see various 'special' dino eggs, DNA etc being made available as DLC in short order, and that these will be reasonably desireable...
Necessary for a publisher house's survival? Who knows. But it is and will always be at the expense of the player.
Gaming-as-a-service is going to become mainstream. Within 3 years.

Jurassic World Evolution is the most boring of all possible outcomes for a dinosaur theme park sim. There’s no outlet for creativity and, aside from the prehistoric pals you might make, managing the parks just isn’t a lot of fun. By the time I’d unlocked enough to make the sandbox mode live up to its name, I realised I had nothing left to build.
It’s a greater disappointment because it falls so short of Planet Coaster. Frontier has already made the game that shows Evolution where it went wrong. It’s not that Evolution couldn’t have forged its own path, but it throws away lots of proven systems, often without substituting them for anything else. I don’t want to bad-mouth cool dinosaurs, but cool dinosaurs can only carry a game so far.
Besides the fact that there’s absolutely no evolution involved in it, Jurassic World: Evolution is a bad game because it’s just a bore of a park sim. Sure, the dinosaurs look nice enough, but the process of unlocking new species is beyond tedious and actually running the business is shallow and quickly gets stale. It beats getting mauled by raptors, but after careful consideration, I’ve decided not to endorse this park.
4.8/10.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Looks like it will be fun for a bit of "gottacatchemall" and then quickly forgotten. At least it looks gorgeous, judging from the videos, but I suspected that the gameplay will become monotonous pretty quick.
so basically same as Planet Coaster with little to no challenge for those of as who are not that creative to spent hours playing with cours fo the rides
