Loki, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, has landed Michael Waldron as its point person. Waldron will write the pilot, act as show creator and exec produce the series.

Feige offered news on Loki, a Marvel Studios original series streaming on Disney+ in the spring of 2021. Tom Hiddleston, back in his role of the mercurial Loki, the god of mischief and everyone’s favorite villain, received a huge welcome from fans when Feige brought him out on stage.
Then to the delight of the audience, Hiddleston answered the biggest question from Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame: “Where did Loki go when he took the Space Stone?”

Sophia Di Martino to co-star with Hiddleston, rumor has it she's going to play "female Loki" (Loki is a shapeshifter).

No, this is one of those times it is in line with the comics. Loki was actually female for a while when he got resurrected.
Only reason it's being made is likely the woman part so...
The show is also being made because of Tom and fans who loved his portrayal. All the thirsty thots will rage if Tom Hiddleston is replaced by a lesser known grill.

I've a theory that this is not the original Loki as he is - spoilers - pretty much dead, killed by Thanos - end of spoiler. He is as in trailer a variant a Loki from an alternative time line and it might be hinted that there will be different Lokis throughout the series, other variants - a female one at that.

Loki Variant is the one from Endgame that picked up the Tesseract. They showed that exact scene in the new trailer and explained how him doing that splintered reality with that graph they showed.

Dude it's my theory but truly I don't give a fuck what it will be. The only thing I want it to be fun and not mundane 1000+ Disney mediocre show that turns out to be boring or safe. It would be cool if IMO they have different versions of Loki but I'm not writing this nor really reading about it.

And as for snyder, the marketing phenomenon to me is very interesting. An unprecedented event in many aspects. And since I work/worked in the industry, it was very interesting to see these events unfold. Wb going bankrupt. Get bought. A guy decides to make it happen because there was an audience for it. And decided to go against every warning the studio gave them. It could not have ever happened if the acquisition never happened. While many look at it as ooooh snyder got his cut and it was glorious, I see it as something historic for the industry. It may not happen again at this scale. Ever. As the fallout from it was as toxic as the faux reports painted the fanbase to be. at the end wb was right, att was right, snyder was right, fans were right, execs from both parties were right and that's it. Will we see more? Maybe. It will be incredible if we do. Last time a studio took a chance like that (iirc) was with John Carter of Mars.
