Hope they add alot of hud customization because this game has all the ques to play without hud, except maybe weapon wheel and a button to show where the objective is for couple of seconds and maybe health when not full.
First one had a nice mod but it stopped working and it has some other hud mods but not the same. Then got the buggy in expansion and unlocked remote control. Most annoying thing, immersed there exploring and then you look in the direction of buggy and you get some giant prompts for remote controls.
Afaik the definition of a dev hell requires the game to not make any development progress, while DL2 keeps moving forward, we announced the game too early but it's far from being in a dev hell
Strange thing but i really liked the first Dead Island back then on 360, i mean i really liked it and had a blast. Now i tried Dying Light several times but not enjoying it, the weapons breaking is fucking too much also (i know Dead Island also had it but i can't remember changing weapons so much like in this), going to try it one more hopefully will click with it this time.

Dead Island rocked. I finished it with all 4 characters
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
Hell yeah played tons of Dead Island. That intro rocks along with that song! The amount of times I loaded the game and let the intro play out before playing continuing my game
Honestly, to keep the expectations in tact i can say already that there won’t be a release date announcement, but there will be more than simple “the development is going smoothly”
its a dev update after allyou as the community will have a better understanding of what’s going on and hopefully it will make the wait a little bit easier and look at this from the bright side there wont be any delay announcements either also saw some people that are worried we might announce canceling the game, wont happen either
I mean the circumstances are "crazy" right now in every way possible, so this update was expected. The whole "reading mean tweets" a la Kimmel was an OK touch. Love how they try to sound professional when talking English
All in all, I'm happy it's coming out; even if it's 2022
