That was a mini-update, went even quicker than the regular monthly ones. Apparently the new features were already added with earlier updates and this one just switched them on.

Microsoft Update Assistant might solve your problem.
I've updated my workstation and my gaming PC with 21H1 with no problems whatsoever.

latest windows update KB5003173 broke my taskbar.. I finally figured out to fix it I had to update 'startisback' which apparently is broken in itself as the auto-update feature does not work. Once I updated startisback, my taskbar worked again.

Why you even use that? Nothing wrong with built-in start menu.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

Dunno... Customizable, simpler, smaller, W7 style, faster access?...And have a tiny button to go Metro UI for a moment?
I use ClassicShell (Even tho it's discontinued) and so far so good. I don't remember where i saw Start8 or startisback or whatever "W10 to W7 menu" had spying stuff etc so i try to evade those.
If i could have a better version of Classic Shell and import my config file into the new app then count me in but meanwhile NO.

Seems that after uninstalling CS, rebooting, then putting OS kept the settings from the old one (Good thing i exported CS's settings in a file to save me the hassle)
Atleast this should help incase M$ wants to kill the app somehow on future W10 updates
Thankies!

Thanks for all the help guys, i decided to just uninstall the update, and leave it on pause, will it try to install it again or will it just install the latest (21H1).
I never had or have had office installed so i ruled that out straight away but appreciated the help all the same and never had a BSOD either, guess i am just lucky.
Thanks again.
BTW i dont get that message now.

NEVER let this rotten festering piece of crap do ANY updates, EVER!, not if you value your system. Block everything from them, period! You should be fine for a while, but their sneaky minds are always changing @ MS, so not guaranteed.

The drivers for my Avermedia Extremecap U3 works on 2004 but it has horrendous framerate and sound, so i had to roll back with Macrium to 1909 in 10 min and call it a day
Avermedia said "Oh, it's the drivers, you should buy a new cap device!"... Me: "Yeah, no, not yet..."

My Office 2013-2021 (2019 tho) C2R Install v7.1.5 has a "Office reactivation task" that seems to always work for me if Office goes legit again.

The upcoming overhaul will be..NextGen
Quote: | A lot of the visual work has already started, with new system icons, File Explorer improvements, and the end of Windows 95-era icons. Microsoft is also focusing on improving the basic foundations of Windows, with fixes for a rearranging apps issue on multiple monitors, the addition of the Xbox Auto HDR feature, and improvements to Bluetooth audio support.
Nadella has also promised to unlock a better economy for developers and creators within Windows itself, so we’ll likely get a closer look at the store changes coming to Windows.
Microsoft has been working on a new app store for Windows in recent months, and rumors have suggested Microsoft will open its store up to all apps and rival payment platforms.
