My 2nd Logitech F510's right D-Pad button has started to fail again, requiring hard press to work.

Sadly this model's totally discontinued, with only the F310 (No Rumble) and F710 (Connectivity issues and battery requirement) being the only ones left to buy in certain stores.

Many people say to get the X360 pad but it's not sold anymore either (Only suspicious third party ones)

I was aiming for an Xbox One WIRED controller for Windows (Plug n play, no driver install) to save the hassle, but i saw that maybe a few people have had possible analog stick "drifts" or some face buttons requiring to be pressed in a way or some other things.

Saw one with a classic + D pad but then there's new version that looks like a circled D Pad (And i'm NOT talking about the Elite model!)

Are they worthy or what alternatives would be out there?

Actually using a PS4 pad but whenever it comes to "pad emulation" they tend to randomly disconnect whenever they want and that's a no-no

I am using the Xbox One gamepad. It works well for me, but it depends on your usage. The D-Pad is definitely a weak part and not suited for fighting games or similar. Works well enough for switching weapons etc. during a game, but I would not want to play Street Fighter or similar with this.

Haven't had any issues with drift yet, but then again I don't use it very often. The biggest advantage of this gamepad is the native support in virtually every title in the last decade.

Never had that issue with my xbox one controller. Well sometimes it has been acting a bit weird at the end of the life of the batteries

Never gotten a disconnect, and those USB connectors kept breaking down on those X360/XOne pads - I told myself fuck that and finally got that Grosoft wireless receiver, a 20€ set of generic batteries+charger for 2 pads, you can find countless numbers of them on any reseller, just pick a nicely rated one.
These cheap batteries last up to 8-9 hours, and you can always plug your pad with a cable if you're running low. Over the years, these batteries are still holding on well.. Haven't looked back, wireless is just so much more comfortable than having to mind the cable and the USB connectors Smile

Don't buy the F710, it's terrible, i literally have the dongle plugged in the front USB and still "misfires". When you use the rumbles and need to press them, the action doesn't feel natural at all.

I feel sorry for not noticiing these while the return window was still on.

I have read some people said their chargers died.

I am talking generic rechargeable lithium batteries. They're like 2000mah each. They're good for like 24hours use.

The question is how many charge cycles they can handle. Cheaper replacement batteries tend to become more expensive in the long run since the cheap stuff will go bad sooner and thus you buy more cheap batteries during X amount of time compared to buying quality batteries.

No worries, been reading that many years ago whenever i was looking for a replacement for my 1st F510. Just wanted to let people know that i'm evading the F710 at all coasts even if they're still sold out there to discard such option.

I was wondering tho. The new SERIES X models got their stuff fixed or could they still have button/trigger issues too? (In a sense of "They get stucked in due to dust/grease?" and "Ya must press the button in some angle to make it register")

I saw that there's the blue/white back one for 60€ that looks pretty nice, but i'm also fine with a black one

I'm talking about the model that has this box design https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61TkbB2upvL._SL1200_.jpg

@Frant I don't know... 2000 cycles? There is no scenario, where a normal battery will be better cost wise.

I only ever use gamepads from PowerA. Got 2 of their xbox elite version which are like half the price and got one of them for my switch as well. Given all the issues I've had with official xbox gamepads being pieces of shit.

That's the one i use on my PC and my nvidia shield with steam link. Durability? It survived my temper while playing Blasphemous. Enough said.

I found the D pad on the Xbox One controller a lot better then the 360 version on PC at least. I could not do some of the special moves in Injustice 2 or Mortal Kombat X but as soon as I changed to the One controller, the D Pad was a lot more responsive and I could do the moves. I would probably get the Xbox Series X controller though since it's a newer revision but I have had no issues with the Xbox controller and most games seem to default to the Xbox button prompts on PC so it does make it easier.

This. The 360 had the worst fucking D-Pad I've ever used. The Xbox One design was way better.

Well i cant do anything but sing praises of the xbox one controller. Fits very nicely in my hands and the battery lasts quite long. Dont get the talk about wireless issues though. I've taken the controller with me to the kitchen while doing repetitive stuff and it's been working fine. kitchen is like 4-5 meters away
