Voyagers (2021)

6/10

Lord of the flies in the space.

It was OKeish, but could have been so much more...

Lily-Rose Depp can't act which is a shame considering her mother and father are both great actors.

The Town, 7/10, a bit too much drama.
The Courier, 6/10, Cucumberbatch was doing a fine job as usual but there was more to be made from this story, a bit more details would've made it much better.
Nobody, 8/10, really enjoyable.

The Mitchells vs. the Machines - 7/10
Not the fan of some of the character design but overall chucked multiple laughs.

nobody 8/10 very nice but maybe a bit to extreme sometimes with that fossil doc brown Laughing , anyway the bus scene was very cool

the little things 5/10 pretty slow and boring; those driving scenes filmed onboard with denzel were hilarious, he didnt even breathed while at the wheel

Hereditary - 7.5/10

It had an uneven pacing but it was quite creepy at times.

My Octopus Teacher 9/10
Beautiful and touching

The Father 9/10
Also beautiful and touching, but in a whole different way Razz Hopkins was great as always, but Olivia Colman was brilliant as well.

Voyagers 6.5/10
I admit, I watched this mostly for Lily-Rose Depp Very Happy Predictable and cliché. Not very good, but not so horrible either.

Hearts in Atlantis 6/10
Not a very good King adaptation. In the end, it goes nowhere and leaves you wondering, which makes sense as the movie covers just the first, intro part of the book.

The Art of Self Defence
Never liked Jesse Eisenberg so i was gonna skip this one since he's even the MAIN character here. A friend really wanted to see it though so whatever. Surprisingly enough i really liked it, and he was really great in that.. incel role. Very fitting. Interesting story with some really dark twists. They overplayed the weirdness a little bit sometimes where it just feels out of place. Underrated. 7.8/10

Subtitles exist. I know you don't read much, but give it a shot or watch dubbed. Netflix does dubs.

Things heard and seen 4/10

WTF? This movie had a great build up and could have been really interesting, but the ending totally killed it all. I rarely blame a movie for a bad ending if the other parts are good, I can still enjoy it. But basically they just threw some random stuff in the script, tried to see what stuck and then tossed it all out of the window anyway and turned it into some kind of fever dream. With a proper ending this could have easily been a 7 or 8. If you really need to watch this, stop 15 mins before the end and make up your own ending, or have your 5-year old make up an ending and I guarantee, it will be better than what they did.

There is official French rls and a dubbed English version for lads like you. Pirate it. Its good. Aja only gets better and better with every movie. A director worthy of a follow.

Relic 8/10

Not a lot of horror in this, more of a constant eerie atmosphere. The ending was surprisingly touching.

Little Shop of Horrors DC (1986) 7/10

Never actually seen this before. Not bad, as far as musicals go, but the songs weren't catchy or memorable. They were all the typical, generic Broadway kind of songs.

The lisping woman was fucking annoying though. Laughing

Pet Semetary (1989) 8/10

Also never seen this one (although the 'no fair, no fair' part at the end seemed familiar). Holds up really well.

Reading subtitles happens automatically for me, it takes nothing away from scenes.
But I guess that's what happens when I've been watching movies with subtitles from different countries since I was a child.

Same here, grew up with subtitles and been using them for foreign films and anime ever since, it takes me less than a second to read 2 lines of subtitles so it doesn't take away anything at all.

Army Of The Dead - 2/10

What a fucking mess of a film. Horrible characters (wtf was that pilot with the cigar?), more plot holes than zombies, cringe dialogues, and on top of that, it's 1 hour too long. Snyder's Dawn remake is a masterpiece compared to this. Do yourself a favour and (re)watch that instead.
