I think someone at RIN posted something about a work around for the FOV on the demo that worked. Maybe it works on the full version.
Thre are allredy mods out there, worked fine without issues.

@DaLexy,
but...but you said it lacks gore, blood and violence !?
Not me per se, i just said what i heard in the German Review. But i cant complain, i mean there is less gore but overall weird mutationshit, still not sure if i played RE or som e Hostel/Human Centipede shit
@above me:
Spoiler:
Ethan is gone (for good), next we get is a greyed Chris in combo with the Rose
Man I hate spending my money on single players games that I'm not going to replay. Play it once then let it rot in your steam library. Well I just did.. it better be good.
House Demetrescu = my least favorite, we allready seen pretty much all of it in trailers and the demos. Also not into all the Tall gurl thing, the daughters are naughtier
Bossfights are so and so, the Daughters are all the same, in some areas you have a bit more space than the others but its doable in short time. Mommy on the other hand was a bit nastier, not much space for you and i hate snipers ^^
House Beneviento = pretty short compared to the others, but a nice riddle and intense spooky/weird scene that ends in the boss fight makes up for it. Not much of shooting at all.
House Moraeu = Most disgusting charcter but i like his backstory and how he acts overall, fuck his acid rain Bossfight is normal run around and shoot and not that challenging.
House Heisenberg = Badass Character with great acting and powers, the whole level is quite big and realy spooky with his creations running around. The Propellerdude is a nasty one but the dialog to introduce him is great. The Bossbattle wasnt that great, disliked the Tankshit and died a couple of times because of bad controlling the thing.
Miranda: Well executed, Bossfight and all the different stages of it felt like a proper RE Bossfight, 4 stages/forms iirc where you just put everything you have into her.
Also a nice part was when you get to play as Chris, had some trouple with the laserpointer at first.
Mercs is fun also, its not only to get a fast time, its more focused on killing groups of enemys to get combos. Got an A rating and i went super fast through the village, one of the shottys can kill even some of the harder ones with just one or a couple of shots (armored ones). Need to try out more today.
Also i thought in some scenes we can finally see Ethans face, but nope. Even in the Extras where the Models are stored his face is blacked out ^^ Not sure if its the same in 7 but i assume.
Also finished this just now and it was a good game overall.
More action oriented than 7 was a good choice in my book and it also ran smoothly while looking gorgeous.
I might replay this with better weapons just so I can see how and if they affect the overall enjoyment.
I finished it. This was the most ambitious RE game in years. It's sloppy in places, but I liked it.
I think they nailed the sense of progression and exploration.
The horror was alright, nothing like RE7 first half though.
I wish they spent a bit more time polishing it. There are some hilarious things going on in this game: flesh blocking bullets, input lag on guns, unstable performance, poorly synced melee cutscenes, etc.
but... why? this is like RE4-RE5 transition all over again....
when RE7 was hailed for being "back to the RE-roots" , why would they not build on that
anyway gotta wait for isodemo i suppose
You really get RE7 parts as well in this game.
So while most of the gameplay you saw in trailers/reviews are shoot run and gun stuff, there are "lone" parts as well.
It is really RE7 and then some. Larger, longer. (However not by that much)
I would say you could go through RE7 in 4-5 hours whereas this is like 7 8 9 hour experience.
Yay I guess since numbers like these may help them to keep bringing their games to PC. On the other hand this game had a monstrous publicity push, so maybe these numbers were expected anyway.

Few AAA releases lately, same as last year, then people buy anyhting that comes out. Last year Mount and Blade 2 was a hype for the same reason.
Wonder if 9 will continue from the post credit scene because they might as well make a new series at that point.
Spoiler:
Everyone will be super old at that point, and Rose super powers.
It's not necessarily like that. I haven't finished the game but I know of the ending since the ransomware leak and
Spoiler:
it could be accelerated aging (like RE7's Eveline) instead of that so many years have passed.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Spoiler:
They might make sequels in the interim of RE8 ending and the post credit sequence. Depends if they want to finally do a soft reboot for good, probably the best chance they'll get.
If they are going further in the soft reboot direction, I just wish they'd tie up the storylines of more of the old characters. Give some of them some happy endings rather than being stuck forever alone and married to their jobs.
Finished. Great game. Just disliked the stupid "doll" segment of a game. What is this indie, hide in the closet shit ?

what? It's not paranormal activity alien isolation shit. Resident evil is not about this "in your head" psycho drama. I similarly disliked the lucas segments in re7.
Go hide under the bed in alien isolation for 20 hours and get that shit out of my resident evil

Running from enemies is a part of RE, I saw no problem in that segment of the game. And come on, you hide under the bed for 3-4 seconds.

There's something wrong with the mouse sensitivity and the menu's navigation is freakin horrible.
The part where Tall Lady says something akin to 'how dare you put your man hands on my daughters' made me laugh so hard my face hurt, because all I could think of was this -
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Doesnt seem to be from what i tested. RE2 and 3 remake had negative acceleration. There seems to be raw input here. If you travel a set distance with the mouse, you should always end up at the same place, regardless how slow or fast you move the mouse. The menu navigation is a bit shit, but in game i thought it was fairly standard, opening the inventory with tab and using the mouse for items. Didnt felt handicapped by the implementation here.
I turned aim assist off before i even started the game, i read people saying the aim assist applies to the mouse as well if left on and the aiming feels bad then.
The in-game UI navigation is clearly designed for controller and quickly adapted for PC. You need to click upgrades in a certain order and inventory management is a joke.

It's literally one short segment in the entire game. Also probably the scariest segment of the game.
Most people are bitching that the doll house segment was too short. It's a real mood whiplash because both Moreau's swamp and Heisenberg's factory afterwards are full on action with very little in the way of scares.
For me, there's no horror if the player is armed. It's just a power fantasy with headshots and progressively bigger guns. Rather than "oh shit oh shit run away" it's "come get some" in Duke voice.
Original Amnesia nailed it, but even it's predecessors gave the player a hammer or something as a weapon and it all went downhill from there as I could just strafe around the enemy and whack it to death. So scary.

You won't be armed throught the game all times. There are sections where you have to rely on escaping and such. And yes, not only in the beginning.
