This game exhibits the same performance problems as Borderlands 3 for me. The gpu memory usage doesn't drop, even when tabbing out and I get small freezes from time to time. This makes me wonder if there isn't some foul play from AMD.

Digital Foudry dude said the reflections are 1/8th resolution. Its just a smeared shit, you cant actually distinguish anything.
Quite a situation we find ourselves in: every amd game means it will be gimped on nvidia to the tune of 20-30% if we go by the titles we have until now. Ray tracing will be some laughable shit like we have here or a single feature one. And no DLSS. An amd game means a loss to everyone

Yep, just buy Nvidia 3000 euro card and run your games with 1/4th resolution at 1080p for maximum quality. RT is fucking gimmick at the moment, the way its implemented on modern shit engines is just bad and takes too much performance away.

of course its a gimmick when your thousand dollar amd shitty card cant run it. Its neither a gimmick nor does it take too much performance away. Thats why you have DLSS in pretty much every RT game, to offset that.
We're closing to 3 years into this stuff by now. You have DLSS and ray traced games coming monthly since last year. Its hardly a gimmick, especially now when we just got Metro yesterday

Just finished it and i love it, its way better than RE7. So much to explore and you have todo some backtracking if ou want all the goodies. the Village works as a hub so you wont have that long ways, its well thought through and after just recently playing RE7 i must say, RE7 felt like a dlc in comparsion to this 
The thing here is , when you think youre close to the end the game keeps on giving and you just start and then again ^^
Also the last Bossfight is pretty nice, great visuals.
The Castle and the Lady and her Daughters are only a fraction of the game and done in around 2 hours if youre quick.
The Story overall is decent and completes 7`s story.
I hated RE7 when it came out and never got really intrested in, now with 8 i got curious because of the setting and so i played through 7 a couple of days ago, but this one here blows it out of the water IMHO.
Not feeling quilty about buying this one (unlike R3make).
Goty material for me (hope they patch the fov slider in)
