looked more werewolf-like.. they also howl. the mouse was so fucking sluggish which didn't make it better. might give it a ISO demo try if the port is eventually decent. if it's not a fixed ratio, e.g 4 bullets no matter where you hit then it's at least a bit better.
I don't think it was zombies tbh..Weren't they werewolves or something?
PS I reckon after upgrading your guns enemies will die much faster..hopefully
In the Village demo they are werewolf-like, but in the Castle demo they are some other type of ghoul. In any case not zombies, this game is inspired by RE4, so the enemies seem to have some basic intelligence like in that game.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

I treated the 'pleasure room' (aka cellar) area as a puzzle combat game: use (all) the resources in an optimal way.
• used the mine on 3 enemies at once for insta-kill
• went for headshots
• used the knife (very important for ammo saving) when enemies were downed or stumbling
I disagree. It is anything BUT lazy game design. They can't afford 'lazy'.
Everything is planned and properly executed with such big companies. You may disagree with their decisions, of course, but they are very well aware of what they are doing*. Especially when they reach a number like 8.
* doesn't mean that what they do is necessarily good or bad, it just is what it is
Also, people have at least 2 (two / dos / deux) choices under such situations:
• they complain (and may give up)
• they go with the flow and adapt / clench their butts and #persist
Village part in the demo is like 5 minutes of gameplay and 20 minutes of cutscenes.

Left me with tons of pistol ammo by the end.
Y'all just nubs.
Thats how I found classic the classic RE games, first play your hopeless and struggle. The second playthrough you know what to expect and can start to properly resource manage. Third + playthroughs you start getting into speedrun effortless territory.
People shit on the length of of RE3, I actually liked accumulating the buffs, playing through and clocking the game faster and faster.
Block, push back, shoot.
You can even block and shoot at the same time in this game.

We know the game is RE4-inspired, this is nothing new. You cannot have jump scares and stalkers following you around in open environments, as you can do in RE7's corridors.
What you can have though is a form of panic as you are being attacked from all directions. And much better exploration.

I guess the demo did seem a little bit vanilla compared to the previous game, but I'll wait until I've played the full game myself.
Quite the contrary, I really enjoyed the scary/horror (even if some of them were pretty cheap/cheesy) moments in RE7 though. It was refreshing after the trainwreck that RE6 was.
Aside of the fact that no one reads today (they need a derptuber to read the news to them while telling them how to feel), the sudden pearl clutching is hilarious. This has clearly been a RE4-inspired game from the first time they revealed it, and they have also openly spoken about it, and you can see from the trailers this is going to be a more open game that doesn't take place in narrow corridors as much as the previous one.
“If Resident Evil 7 was like a reboot that inherited the DNA of the original Resident Evil, then you could say that this time we’re doing the same for Resident Evil 4,” Kanda says. “We’ve designed the game and its structure with Resident Evil 4’s essence in mind, so I think that you’ll be able to find a lot of elements that remind you of that game.”
Quote:
“We’ve prepared a more open environment, and basically we just tell the player to go and have fun with it, which is something Resident Evil hasn’t done before. While the main story still advances in what we think is the best order to experience it, it is totally possible to ignore the objectives and just get lost in the game’s world. There are many houses you can completely ignore, but as we feel it’s important to reward the player’s eagerness to explore, there will always be something interesting to discover. We really put a lot of effort into making Village’s exploration worthwhile.”
Sato believes that this freedom of exploration will create a different experience for each player, and hopes that it will become a reason to make players want to come back to the village again and again.
Quote:
“The fact that Village has so many optional things to do makes it very different from previous installments in the series,” says Sato. “I’d almost go as far as to say that we prepared too many detours, so if you want to experience everything, it’s really going to take you a long time.”
