Bad Company 2 was great from an infantry combat perspective (with the removal of prone to discourage worthless bush wookies a great idea that should be mirrored in other online shooters).
However, the maps were much too small (albeit incredibly destructible, to the point where they were flat as a pancake by the end of a match), and the vehicle combat sucked (partly due to the tiny maps). It was a fun game, but it wasn't Battlefield. Or, more accurately put, it was Battlefield Lite, built from the ground up with consoles in mind. Kind of like BF 1943.
I'd love to see another Vietnam era Battlefield - but that won't happen with the current climate of "everything is racist/sexist/blabla". Next best would be a 2143 - but that won't happen either as it's not "in" at the moment. So probably more generic "modernness" on the horizon.

BC2 gets way too much credit, with it started the arcadeization of Battlefield.
The majority of the maps were too narrow because they were designed with Rush Mode in mind. As a result, there were many static where both teams were abusing ammo boxes to spam grenades.

BC2 was a lot of fun to play though. Yes, the maps were small, but mostly well balanced and had a good design (in contrast to BF4, the last one I've played). I doubt I'll ever return to this francise though.

The Osprey had many teething problems during development and initial rollout - resulting in quite a few crashes (and subsequently deaths) of those onboard. They've since got these ironed out.

they did it before with battlefield 3&4, and honestly it felt like the PC version didn't suffer because of it. in fact the PS3/X360 versions were downgraded to hell and back and were significantly inferior.
i hope this remains the case.
