I'm using VS with argument in debug. Pretty straight forward.
By the way, this is just so awesome. It's D2 with modern high def graphics. I mean this and CnC remaster should be the standard for any remaster, period.

sounds like its working then. what are you expecting it to do exactly? patching an exe takes less than a millisecond or so..

Hi Breezer, could you tell me how you get it working? I drag the game.exe on top of the downloaded D2ROffline in the same folder, I do get a console, but after a second the game.exe window closes again. Which step am I missing? |
https://github.com/shalzuth/D2RModding/releases/tag/1.0.0
download that and drag the game exe top of it. |
Thanks, tried that too but all I see is a black game.exe window for a second or two and it closes, same as with the D2Roffline. No idea what is going wrong, used the BNetInstaller to get the files so they must be okay. |
You drag it top of it then start the game.exe

I did, no luck unfortunately. If I drag it to the D2ROffline I see a window with 'bypassing .....' for a few seconds before game.exe starts, but then closes again. Starting game.exe after patching it closes immediately as well.

I had a 34" ultra wide for some years, really overrated, apart from it's great for some programs like Cubase. Switched back to ws...

Utrawide is fine for gaming, cause devs just need to support all formats.
But for tele it's such an annoying peace of fuck. I want a screen full of pixels. And is was never bothered with 16:9 not being wide enough. My eyes are fine with that. They do hate black lines.

I can't go back to 16:9 after ultrawide myself. For me it's worlds better for working, gaming, and general usage. The extra FOV in 1st/3rd person games, or the screen real estate and extra area view in games like skylines or MSFS is exponentially more pleasing to me. For myself there is no downside or negative to it.
And for work, being able to run multiple windows where they do not feel like they are all in portrait mode, and I can actually see the whole remote desktop and a code reference doc or coding window at the same time is tons better.
Id get a super ultrawide if I had the money.
(And I remember the same argument of why 16:9 sucks and it 'breaks things' when 4:3 was the standard).
Anytime I help/work on someones machine that's 16:9 now it feels like the old 4:3 and thinking "Man how do you fit anything on here, much less more than one window at a time, on this screen?".

Same. In fact I'm upgrading to 32:9.
Once you go wider you can't go back. Immersion is turned up hard and productivity is wonderful with it as well.
And in some games just plain advantageous.
Plus it's harder to find games nowadays that don't support those aspect ratios than it is to find ones that do.

I watched a video about it last night.
You can assign buttons to the skills/spells, and have more control of your character movement. You also strafe better as you have better response time. Hard to explain unless you see it...
Only downsides, like all ARPG's with controller use is the lack of being able to use skills like teleport or a curse over enemies EXACTLT where you want, which is why M/K is the way to go IMO
