AWESOME!

Oh my GOD that was awesome!! Squeenix have gone back to AC and fixed it completely, beautiful retouching of the animation, loads of new special effects and camera angles. The story has been revisited and now actually makes SENSE! The amount of new footage, voices, back story and character interaction was incredible -- and the fight scenes that were extended? FANTASTIC! Especially the last battle between Cloud and Sephiroth ^_^

If this comes out on DVD; I'm buying it. No question.

Dubbed ugh, is it a crap effort? nothing worse than watching badly dubbed stuff, one of my pet peeves...

Im guessing this one here posted day ago is still the original seeing as it has 2005 in the title?

[hd-wmv.com] Presents Final.Fantasy.VII.Advent.Children.Complete.2005.Bluray.VC1.720P.5.1.WM V-NOVO [001/103] - "novo.ffac-720wmv.nfo"

why I asked is because it still has complete in the title..

NO!!! Mate, seriously, NO! The dubbing is Class-A. All Japanese VAs, even for the English voices, and I *strongly* recommend nabbing it!

There's a version on a site (I'll link you Razz) that's MKV and has English/Jap audio tracks alongside some English subs too.

Be careful, mate. I hadn't thought of what Moose posted; that release says "2005" in it ... and that's pause for concern. What if you end up DLing 9GB of the ORIGINAL movie and not the new "Complete"?

Oh and it's 1280x720 as well (according to NOVO's NFO)

It's the new one, i dont know why they put 2005 in the filename.

Final.Fantasy.VII.Advent.Children.ENGLISH.DUBBED.2005.720p.BluRay.x264-NOVO.mkv

thats the one I have, and I've watched it, it has all the new scenes, 720p, all of it. (except the Japanese audio track which is disappointing)

The 1080p one:
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete (2005) 1080p.BluRay.x264-CtrlHD

also has "2005" in the title, but its the new version as well. (both english and japanese audio tracks)

although its the new one, im not sure how the quality is on the one moose posted, but i recall hearing that it's the worse of the 3 or 4 rips...would need someone to clarify that for you.

Is the English dub bad? I was thinking about getting the Novo mkv or HDWMV. 1080p is a bit too much for an anime for me.

story has no particular value anyway, so u won't miss anything, i suggest dubbed without any subs, will ruin already lame film if u spend time reading subs, visuals yeah they are great, but i wish they made something more earthly with normal characters just like Spirits Within

There's a separate subtitle file for the CHD 1080p version. I've watched the CHD version with it and it was perfect.

Completely deprived of any logic, a farfetched story with weird dialogue in true Asian fashion and some gayass characters. Definitely a movie for FF7 fans, someone who hasn't played the game will probably be left with alot of confusion. I liked it, but I wouldn't recommend it anyone else who hasn't played FF7. English dub was very good btw, except for Cloud's voice.

7/10 for me, 6/10 as a movie. Still a good watch for the CGI, but it still feels like a collection of cutscenes.

PS. They should remake FF7.

yes they should Smile but they won't. because they know everyone wants it, so they'll just keep making stupid spinoffs, each on a different console, so they can market the extremely milked out series on as many systems as possible, equaling much more $$$ in their pocket.

Squaresoft = FF7, FF8, FF9, Chrono Cross / Trigger, etc. (awesome games)
SquareEnix = FFX-2 ....(wtf happend?)

yeah Smile I had just gotten those a couple days back. Off topic, i got a question for those who are more tech/movie-encoding-savvy:

So I cant watch 1080p movies on my computer because its too slow (AMD 64 3800+ 2.41Ghz, 2gbRAM)
But i noticed that when I watch this one Denzel OVA anime in 1080p, it does not slow down or stutter in framerate. It's wierd...is it just because its less colors or less complex scenes that it doesn't slow down?

I could understand with games because of having to render all of the graphics and effects options (physics, shading, textures, etc etc), but i dont understand with movies...its already rendered and encoded...:/

Dude I think it depends more on your video card, and more importantly if your card is designed to process high def video efficently as the Nvidia 8800 series upwards have been. Codecs could also be an issue so I would check what you have installed, but as for it being your CPU yours should be plenty fast enough IF it's backed up by a good card.

It also HIGHLY depends on the software. Do NOT use VLC for HD videos. It might work, but won't most of the time.
Use MediaPlayerClassic (yeah, the old one) instead, but also get the AVC Core Codec for it. That will run just fine. Even 1080p movies run on my 2 yr old laptop with that. Smile
