I hope they don't change too much gameplay-wise...
Sounds to me like they have ported the first two games into ME3's engine and have made some changes to ME1s systems to bring it closer to the other two. Not sure what that will amount to in practice, but from what they've said I gather they weren't willing to spend the time/money to do anything too radical, so hopefully they didn't fuck ME1 up. I guess we'll see when the isodemo drops in May. Assuming they don't load it up with Denuvo.
What to do when you lack ideas ? Create sweetfx profiles.. erm.. I mean.. remake games. 0 to 0.1% gameplay changes. Gotta love remakes. Why make new games when you can grab some quick cash.
Such a limited view on the subject. Please correct. _ >
Lots of old(er) games are not optimized for newer hardware. And personally, lately, most of the times I choose to return to some old games that I'll enjoy replaying MUCH MORE than playing the new shite that comes out today.
With those games there's always a problem running on newer systems. Be it technical or visual:
• some games need third-party apps for compatibility / no (ultra)wide support, frustrating input problems, no proper usage of today's hardware (single-core / multi-core), directx etc. (Mass Effect 1 is, btw, on this list)
• some games have aged so badly that despite the great story or gameplay it is almost impossible to enjoy them
No, I don't want Arx Libertatis - type of solutions for all my older games, as I want dem games to run OK as soon as I download them. Don't really have time to search Nexus-type of websites each time I want to quick play some older game.
I don't replay older games but I see your point. Your point for any other game. Mass Effect doesn't have the issues you mentioned. Pretty sure they are supposed to be busy making Dragon Age 4 or something. I want Dragon Age 4. Can't correct.
‘I do think a lot of things have evolved since [the original games] but I don’t know if I would say we were ultra-concerned about it or anything like that, but there were considerations’, admits Walters. ‘Kevin actually called out some camera cuts that were just… why was that focusing on Miranda’s butt? So in some cases we said, ‘Okay, we can make a change there’.

The Dragon Age team is working on DA4. The Mass Effect team are working on this and ME5. Bioware hasn't worked on a single project at a time since Baldur's Gate, 20-odd years ago.

Glad to see they switched out the mod to fix the black characters on AMD CPUs to the recent non-adware one.

Booo!
Then again it's Bioware and the year is 202X, we should consider ourselves lucky that they're too lazy to completely replace Miranda and Ashley with two desexualized Twitter legbeards. They'll more than make up for that with Ma55 Effect though
Sexualize reptilian creatures = fuck yeah they are only reptiles!
Add a gamut of dick models to chargen = well done, so courageous.
Gratuitously saw off a characters head = brilliant
Allow player to beat the shit out of someone on the street, kill them, steal car= Well done GOTY
Sexualize men, homoerotica = so courageous!
sexualize a female character, even an alien caracture = financial ruin, death threats, scum, ban this shit!, no.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
As expected, it will essentially play more like the sequels, with their pros and cons. Every single adjustment is aimed at making it more accessible, modern gaming in a nutshell
Players on PC can play up to 240 fps and supporting refresh rates up to 240 Hz. Additionally, players can tweak several graphics options at any time to finetune the preferred balance of graphics and performance.
