So I like spicy things but I'm not an extreme chili head and I don't torture myself with eating raw habaneros (although I've done it a couple of times and they buuuuuuurn), moruga scorpion, ghost pepper, carolina reaper etc..
A months or so back I bought two packs of those korean chicken flavor fire noodles which became popular on youtube as challenges a few years back.
I thought they were quite tame and it just created a comfy warmth in my mouth, possibly a little chili burn on the tip of my tongue but nowhere near the tears, sweating, pain and snot reaction I've seen people get from it. Very tasty though and a 100 times better than the ultra cheap shit of noodle soup packets you buy in supermarkets (I can't stand them anymore, the noodles are slimy, the broth just taste of MSG (E621 additive), that fake umami flavor and some disgusting artificial flavoring of shrimp, mushroom, beef or whatever.
So I ordered a five pack of those (since they're tasty) as well as a five pack of the newer x2 Fire Noodles variant, twice as spicy, and cooked last night.
Ho Lee Fak. They are HOT. My eyes teared, my mouth was on fire, I was sweating and I drooled saliva like an open tap. The difference between the x1 and x2 felt like the difference between a weak jalapeño (2,500 to 8,000 SCU) and a very hot habañero (100,000 to 350,000 SCU).
Still, they were so tasty that I just chomped them down and suffered the pain and heat. The endorphins kicked in slightly and when the worst pain had faded it was the most awesome afterglow heat I've had in years.
But for 5+ minutes I was in flaming hot pain. I've watched plenty of youtube clips of people doing the 2x fire noodle challenge but thought they just weren't used to spicy foods at all. After doing it myself (although I didn't take it as a challenge, just as an evening meal) I see what all the fuss was about.
I'll keep eating them and probably order more (there's something weird about chili heat, some of us get addicted to it, possibly because of the endorphins being released as the body reacts as if we're slightly high on our own natural opiate analogue. But the heat is also pleasant for some reason unless it's way too hot. I guess it wouldn't be nearly as bad if I built up my tolerance by eating fresh chili fruits every day, ranking from fairly weak Spanish peppers, Jalapeños (they do pack a serious punch if they're grown to contain it's upper limits of capsaicin) to Habañeros (now THESE are pure pain). After a while I'd probably be able to go further and tolerate stronger chilis.
There's an x3 version of these fire noodles as well but I won't get near them as the x2 version is the hottest I can manage. Great tasting noodles with great consistency; at least until the flavor is replaced by pure searing heat.
Any chili heads in here that have tried these "SAMYANG 2X SPICY HOT CHICKEN FIRE NOODLES" or gone way beyond and tested stuff like the one chip challenge, death nut, satan's toe etc.?

I've tried the first ones, they're tame indeed.
Noodles are overall kind of boring, i prefer to do super hot chicken wok, i just add tons of chili to it (via spice or sauce, e.g Death which is a super hot one.)
